My friend and I were planning on driving down I-35 from Oklahoma City to

Would You Sacrifice Your Child?

Radio and TV pundit Bill O'Reilly interviewed film maker Michael Moore
of Fahrenheit 9/11 fame(?) on Fox News Channel last night from the
Democratic National Convention in Boston. O'Reilly replayed parts of
the interview on his radio show today. O'Reilly asked him to apologize
to George Bush for calling Bush a liar on the Iraq weapons of mass
destruction issue. O'Reilly charged that Bush was misinformed and made
a mistake when Bush made the case for the Iraq invasion, based
primarily on the claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and
America was in danger, but that Bush was not a liar. Moore rejected
this and continued to call Bush a liar. Moore kept trying to turn the
argument around on O'Reilly by asking O'Reilly if he would sacrifice
his child for the defense of Fallujah. Moore must have posed this
retort 4 or 5 times. It was bait. O'Reilly didn't bite.

This kind of tactic shows (if you needed any more evidence) exactly
what Michael Moore is: a polemicist, a flame-thrower, and a
rabble-rouser. Moore's the annoying uncle at the family reunion picnic
who must find others to argue politics with, and win (it's an ego
thing).

Moore's the kind of guy who, if you are arguing whether God exists,
will say something like "Well, if your caring God exists and you are
so faithful then jump off that cliff over there and see if He saves
you??!"

Jumping off a cliff and plunging to your death, of course, has nothing
to do with God. And that's the point. The uncle Michaels' of the world
aren't interested in a logical, point-by-point debate. Nope. The Uncle
Mikes' of the world like to 'win' arguments by throwing a rhetorical
curveball at ya. A rhetorical and illogical question that is designed
so that you can't answer it, but that somehow puts you on the spot. As
if there were a gaggle of 8th graders always hanging around rooting
for him saying "WOOOOOOOOP! he got you there!! JUMP OFF that cliff if
you believe in God! WUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!".

Asking the question, 'Would you sacrifice your child for the defense
of Fallujah', is an unanswerable question. OF COURSE you wouldn't
sacrifice your child!

nor would you be in favor of sacrificing any
child!

Sacrificing children has nothing to do with Iraq. George Bush
isn't sending innocent American children over to Iraq to be needlessly
sacrificed.

The brave American soldiers who have been killed in Iraq were not
children. They may have been the ADULT children of 2 living parents,
but they were not children.
