No competent teacher would teach it as fact. They teach evolution as a
scientific theory. Look up "scientific method" in the dictionary.
The reason evolution is taught is because it is the best way we have
of explaining how life on Earth develops. Given a choice between a
modern scientific theory arrived at through extensive study and
observations, and the incoherent ramblings of a bunch of Bronze Age
desert nomads, I know which one I'd choose.
