Swiss Hospitals Agree to Help Kill Patients
Lausanne University hospital, Switzerland has decided to permit assisted
suicides starting from January 1, 2006. Assisted suicide has always been
considered a form of active euthanasia . In addition to Lausanne, other
leading Swiss hospitals are now actively discussing permitting the
procedure. Though Swiss law initially did not allow doctors to kill their
patients the practice of euthanasia has been gradually extended from private
groups into the public health systems.
Extensive experience with euthanasia laws in other countries has revealed a
consistent pattern. Assisted suicide is presented to the public as a last
resort necessary to alleviate human suffering. Once this becomes acceptable
to the public, the categories of people deemed expendable steadily expands
to include those perceived to have a diminished value to society or to
themselves.
In the Netherlands, doctors have been allowed to practice active euthanasia
since 1973. While Dutch death regulations initially required that euthanasia
be strictly limited to the sickest patients, it has been steadily redefined
with the protective guidelines gradually eroded. As a result, Dutch doctors
now legally kill the terminally ill, the chronically ill, disabled people
and depressed people, on demand. Furthermore, repeated studies sponsored by
the Dutch government shows that a significant number of patients are
murdered by their doctors every year as a result of involuntary euthanasia.

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - A 3-year-old boy died after his mother held him in a
tub of scalding water as punishment on Christmas Day and his grandmother,
who had custody, failed to get him medical care for a week, authorities said
Monday. The mother had lost custody of the boy for previous abuse.
Broward County sheriff's deputies found Jaquez Mason with burns over 50
percent of his body after getting a 911 call Sunday morning. He was
pronounced dead a half hour later. It was unclear why he was punished,
spokesman Jim Leljedal said.
His mother, Valerie Kennedy, 30, was charged with child abuse murder and
jailed without bond. His grandmother, Annie Williams, 51, accused of failing
to take the boy for medical treatment, was charged with manslaughter and was
being held on $10,000 bond.
Deputies said a court had placed Jaquez in the custody of his grandmother
because of past abuse by the mother. Despite that, Williams allowed the boy
to spend Christmas with Kennedy, officials said.
That evening, Kennedy told Williams that Jaquez got burned, and Williams
took her grandson back to her Deerfield Beach home and applied ointment to
his burns, officials said.
Both women gave statements to homicide detectives, admitting their
involvement, officials said.
A man who answered the phone at the grandmother's house refused to talk
about the child or what happened. Court records did not list an attorney for
either woman.

I hardly think it is likely.
Medical staff, are a generally intelligent people, and would realise the
pollution problems that disposing of so many bodies, would present.
OTOH, they could make a note of all those who thank "god", for their recovery,
rather than the efforts of the staff, and make sure that on their next visit,
"god" is not helpful.

Swiss Hospitals Agree to Help Kill Patients
Lausanne University hospital, Switzerland has decided to permit assisted
suicides starting from January 1, 2006. Assisted suicide has always been
considered a form of active euthanasia . In addition to Lausanne, other
leading Swiss hospitals are now actively discussing permitting the
procedure. Though Swiss law initially did not allow doctors to kill their
patients the practice of euthanasia has been gradually extended from private
groups into the public health systems.
Extensive experience with euthanasia laws in other countries has revealed a
consistent pattern. Assisted suicide is presented to the public as a last
resort necessary to alleviate human suffering. Once this becomes acceptable
to the public, the categories of people deemed expendable steadily expands
to include those perceived to have a diminished value to society or to
themselves.
In the Netherlands, doctors have been allowed to practice active euthanasia
since 1973. While Dutch death regulations initially required that euthanasia
be strictly limited to the sickest patients, it has been steadily redefined
with the protective guidelines gradually eroded. As a result, Dutch doctors
now legally kill the terminally ill, the chronically ill, disabled people
and depressed people, on demand. Furthermore, repeated studies sponsored by
the Dutch government shows that a significant number of patients are
murdered by their doctors every year as a result of involuntary euthanasia.
