about them elevating Nugent to his current status in
the organization. It's not that he's a bad human being,
but he's totally off-the-wall, erratic, "uncultured"
and prone to running his mouth without thinking. He
may hold some appeal for the "Larry the cable guy"
set, but a national political-rights organization
needs better represntatives than "Larry".
The NRA should never let Nugent out in public without
a "handler" nearby to smack him in the head when (not
"if") he starts to say something idiotic that can
hurt the organization and its cause.

right - not some "crazed" idea the Founders tacked-on during
the big conventions-end keg party. It needs to be represented
at the top levels by civilized, educated, dignified individuals
who can get everyones respect. "Wild-Man" Ted ain't it. He's
more likely to induce moderates to join the anticonstitutionalists.
The organization CAN use Nugent, but CAREFULLY. With the right
crowds he's perfectly OK ... just make sure there aren't any
CNN people around that can use his remarks out of context for
their own anticonstitutionalist ends :-)
