The War Bush Doesn't Want Seen |
Here is a good site which tells what is going on in Iraq from those who
actually went to Iraq, the soldiers, as opposed to those who like to
take credit and live viciously while home safe. It is enlightening.
Key=draft&lnav=1>
Here is an excerpt:
David:
"[David] found that in the Iraq War, there were separate rules for the
reservists and the soldiers on active duty. Before long the 32-year old
and his fellow guardsmen were writing home, asking for essential
equipment that the Pentagon simply refused to provide for reservists.
David's parents had to send him batteries, and even radio equipment
from Wal-Mart to make up for supplies that was missing or broken and
not replaced. Night vision equipment amongst the reservists was in such
short supply that soldiers had to take turns using it. Worst of all,
guardsmen like David were expected to perform the same dangerous
missions as regular soldiers, but without any body armor."
Sgt Jefferies:
"I watched America provide doors, floors, windows, plumbing, sewage
disposal, and air conditioning for Iraqi troops while American soldiers
on the same compound struggled with none of these things. Despite
promises to make conditions equal for US and Iraqi troops, the
construction never approached parity."
This is the war George W. Bush hopes no one will discover.

This kind of stuff wouldn't happen if people like John Kerry, who claim to
support the troops, vote against funding the war effort.

Three problems - One, he didn't do that, and two, it is the Presidents
job to ensure the troops are equipped. He can't just say, we don't
have enough money to buy you body armor, but go anyway. And THREE,
most importantly, there was enough money. Bush used it for the
Iraqi's. Read the article for once. Bush decided doors, floors,
windows, plumbing, sewage disposal, and air conditioning for Iraqi
troops was more important than body armor for American troops.

Not sure, quite possibly. Guy was a nut case for sure.

An honest question: Would this scenario exist if the 87 billion had been
approved? Were supplies such as these included? I have no clue what
exactly was in the bill, and don't have much interest in reading a bill
that didn't pass, thus my asking.

any of us.

If you read what Kerry did you would see why he got tangled up in that
tongue twisting "I voted for it then against it" thing. While he voted
against a specific form of this bill, he was not opposed to sending 87
billion to Iraq. He was simply opposed to the specific funding issues
of this bill.
It doesn't mean he didn't support the troops.
Bush also threatened to veto this very bill, if 10 billion was in the
form of a loan. Would that have meant he didn't support the troops?
