Fred Thompson, Never a Soldier
Even though Fred Thompson avoided serving our country in Viet Nam by
taking an "extended tour" in Grad school, he still feels he has the
right to use the brave sacrifices of every American veteran for his
own personal political ambitions

Almost NONE of the Republicans, especially in their leadership,
have ever served. Of the ones that did - very few completed
their obligations.
More importantly, of the soldiers who return from the War
Against Iraq, the ones who choose to continue to serve their
country do so in opposition to the Republican insurgents.

me what their political status is.

And many who returned support the war too.

I think it's telling that all but ONE of the GOP candidated
enthusiatistically backing torturing.... the exception being John
McCain, one of the few GOPers who served and knew a thing or two about
being tortured.

Serbia is being occupied now. The Germans were occupied. So were the
Japanese. My gess is 99% didn't like the idea.
And when Democrats surrender in Iraq Al Qaeda will still get new
recruits.
