the hotel.

Papa Jack comments:
Again and again we see the blatant efforts of the
Pro-Abort community doing their best to shut up
their opponents by any means possible.
I particularly noted:
"Planned Parenthood, a non-profit organ-
ization, recorded $17.4 million in profits
in Houston during the last year, according
to Posvar."
Clearly "non-profit" is a misnomer when applied
to PP.
Thanks for considering my point of view.

Yeah, *there's* really "balanced" reporting...quit your whining, MP Reject.
Westin decided to give your anti-abort pals the boot because they were likely
to attract the kind of people *no* hotel wants, and they weren't too happy at
the prospect of having to pay HPD officers to help secure the premises. Even
in the rich Republican enclave of the Magic Circle part of Houston, your
anti-abort nitwit comrades aren't welcome. Maybe next time, they can con the
Palace Inn on the Beltway into taking them in.

Hey, once you start thinking that the Holy Fetus[tm] gives you a right
to use other people's bodies, it doesn't exactly take a huge leap to
decide that it gives you a right to use other people's property, too.

Obviously no one has a right to use *private* property. However, it is
extremely unusual behavior for a commercial business to refuse to rent
space for political reasons. It would be different if we were talking
about a racist organization, where the public relations consequences
would be one-way.
However, everyone has the right to safety; the Houston Police
Department should provide all the protection anyone might need,
however unpopular they might be, with any costs falling to the
criminals creating a need for police presence at all.
Thus, for example, if world leaders get together at a globalization
conference, and millions of dollars are spent on police security, if
any demonstrators are convicted of offences, an attempt should be made
to recover every penny of that expense from those convicted criminals,
to protect the taxpayer.

These people were not "world leaders" and they were not "renting" a room
in the hotel, if I remember the story correctly. They were a bunch of
nanny pro-slavers who were protesting in the hotel's lobby. The hotel's
management had every right to ask the pro-liars to leave.

The hotel is a privately run and owned property, is it not?
Where is the proof that Planned Parenthood was able to exert
pressure on the hotel's management to boot out that pro-slavery
group from the hotel? How do you know the hotel simply does not
allow political organizations to demostrate on its private property
no matter what the organization's view is?

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization. Why should
we take the word of a pro-slavery fool about Planned Parenthood's
financial situation?

Planned Parenthood was holding its annual
"Celebrating Roe v. Wade" luncheon at the
Westin and complained to the hotel's manage-
ment that the pro-life group should not be
allowed to hold a news conference inside the
hotel.
"'Apparently the state's largest abortion provider

Bullcrap!! Having NO desire to allow a group of bigots
to convene a hate-laden press conference on PRIVATE
land when its obvious purpose would be to badmouth the
organization which had PAID the hotel for its event, is just
plain GOOD common sense
This would be the equivalent of the NAACP's asking a
hotel not to permit a similar hatefest on their grounds by
the KKK, if the hotel were hosting an NAACP convention.
WHINEY attempts on the part of bigots to spin
this otherwise are totally ludicrous, lame, and
completely transparent.
(KKK and Anti-Choicers -- EQUALLY hateful and
profoundly-ignorant movements.)
