(CNN) -- Moments before their trial was to begin, five white South
Carolina youths admitted their roles in a mob attack on a black teen
and received prison sentences from a judge who called their actions
"despicable" and "cowardly."
....
Each of the defense attorneys asked for mercy, one calling his client
a churchgoing boy who made a foolish mistake. Another attorney
repeatedly referred to the incident as a fight.

Bishop Tells of Paper of Abuse by Priest
Wed Jan 11, 4:21 AM ET
WASHINGTON - Auxiliary Bishop Thomas Gumbleton of Detroit, arguing for
more time for sex abuse victims to sue the Roman Catholic Church, says
he was abused by a priest 60 years ago.
Gumbleton, 75, told The Washington Post in an interview published in
Wednesday's editions that he was "inappropriately touched" by a priest
in 1945 when he was a ninth grader at Sacred Heart Seminary in
Detroit.
He is believed to be the first U.S. bishop to disclose that he was a
victim of clergy sexual abuse and also the first to endorse proposals
in several states to remove time limits that have prevented many
victims of sex abuse from suing the church.
"I don't want to exaggerate that I was terribly damaged," Gumbleton
told the Post in a telephone interview. "It was not the kind of sexual
abuse that many of the victims experience."
But he said the experience helps him understand why sex abuse victims
often cannot bring themselves to file lawsuits within the period
allowed by the statute of limitations, which in many states is two to
five years after the alleged crime.
"They are intimidated, embarrassed, and they just bury it," he told
the Post. "I understand that. I never told my parents. ... I never
told anybody."

Typical American racist trash:
"Prosecutors said the five, riding to a nearby drag strip in three
pickup trucks, accosted Clyburn on July 7 as he walked along a rural
road in Cherokee County, South Carolina.
One of the defendants shouted a racial slur. Another, identified as
Christopher Scott Cates, challenged Clyburn to a fight, and the others
surrounded Clyburn, beating and kicking him, prosecutors said.
Clyburn, who did not know any of his assailants, tried to run to a
friend's house, but couldn't scale a barbed wire fence. The beating
continued across the road and into a ditch, according to prosecutors.
Afterwards, prosecutors said, defendant Lucas Grice climbed back into
his truck and showed his class ring to a female passenger, bragging,
"This is where I got (him) in the head."
"You're not the only one who got some good licks in," another
defendant said, according to prosecutors.

That's how American yahoos act in Iraq, and anywhere the US sends
occupation forces.

| Title: Fugitive Priest Captured |

They're persecuting Catholic priests again!!
They're only trying to help prevent abortions,
every boy whose semen is swallowed by a priest,
prevents the boy from impregnating a girl.
Yeah, that's the ticket!
Mich. Prosecutor: Fugitive Priest Captured
Thu Feb 9, 11:52 AM ET
BAY CITY, Mich. - A Catholic priest sought for more than seven years
in Michigan child sex-abuse cases was captured in Colombia and
returned to the U.S. for trial, authorities said.
John Steven Rabideau, 44, was arrested Saturday as he tried to enter
the country from Ecuador, and is now being held in a jail in
Miami-Dade County, Fla., said Bay County Prosecutor Joseph K. Sheeran.
He is set to be returned to Michigan next week.
He will be tried on charges that he had sexual contact with three boys
in 1985 and 1987, Sheeran said. The boys, now adults, reported the
incidents in 1998, and an arrest warrant was issued then.
Rabideau, reached at the Florida jail, declined to comment. "I
probably shouldn't talk to you until I talk to a lawyer," he told The
Associated Press on Thursday before the phone line went dead.
Sheeran said Rabideau's current status as a priest wasn't known but he
had been active in 2004 in the Philippines.
In the mid- to late 1980s, Rabideau was a student in Boston and was
connected to a Catholic missionary order. He was visiting relatives in
Williams Township at the time of the reported offenses.
Sheeran said Rabideau will face one count of first-degree criminal
sexual conduct, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. He
also will face six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct,
each of which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years.
