A Question For You Bush Supporters
________________________________________________________________

What do you think the government should do about health care for
Americans? Here's my suggestion: Since Bush and his cronies feel that
tax cuts create jobs on the corporate level and give the little guy
more money in his/her pocket, why not nationalize health care? I'm
sure that the money that companies would save by not subsidizing part
of their employee premiums, along with the added money each person
would have with the cessation of paying for his/her health insurance,
would drive the economy to new heights. Or is that suggestion merely
as bogus as the theory that tax cuts stimulate the economy?

1. It's contrary to a democracy.
2. It's contrary to individual decision to be a doctor.
3. It's either paid for with more taxes, or fee fixed.
4. It eliminates doctor appointments.
5. It deletes professionalism.
6. It reduces the field to the level of the average government worker.
Did I forget any?

If you're going to socialize medicine, why stop there? Answer - we wouldn't. Socialize
everything, then we would have a socialized society rather than a democratic one. That
way we would be like the old Soviet Union - we're told what work we are to do, we're told
what careers we would have, we share one-bedroom apartments with other families, and we
would get our bucket of potatoes and onions at practically no charge.

no, just contrary to private business interests.

As we pay-out millions to corporations already what's the difference ?

Why do you, instead, support fascism, "The merger of corporate and state

1. It's contrary to a democracy.

no, just contrary to private business interests.

It's contrary to free choice. As are public schools. Unless you're
proposing opt out with a full tax refund for opt-outers?

As we pay-out millions to corporations already what's the difference ?

Pay out where? Corporate welfare? That should be stopped.

6. It reduces the field to the level of the average government worker.

If you have a loved one being seen in a VA hospital for something
life-threatening, do yourself a favor. Pay whatever extra money you can
to have them seen somewhere else.
Just a bit of friendly advice.

LOL, how does having the option of going to a free public school do
anything but add to your choice?
And it's been my own experience that private schools, especially those
run by a corporation tend to be pretty damn bad. They do without all
kinds of things like school nurses, reading specialists and
counsellors. They won't take on the problem years of high schools, so
you just can't get anything but public for those year. (hey - if no
public schools are available, your kids just don't get to go to high
school if there's no private school in your town) They use marketing
companies to pretend they are doing so much better in tests, when the
truth is they set up the rules so all their students are a year older
than everyone else and anyone with any problems is kicked out.
So in your opinion, the public schools option should be stopped and we
should all rely on McDonalds type companies to educate our country's
future doctors, engineers and scientists. Not to mention, uneducated,
unemployed people don't pay taxes, instead they have to steal to feed
their families.
We all have a stake in educating our children. You need to pay your
fair share no matter what you do with your own kids.

As we pay-out millions to corporations already what's the difference ?

Then vote out the republicans.

I have to disagree. You have to be careful, but there are fabulous
military hospitals that handle VA work.
Then again, a policy paying any white collar government worker far
less than commercial might be a reason for not getting top quality.
Let's face it, repubs tend to screw everything up.

LOL, how does having the option of going to a free public school do
anything but add to your choice?

Public Schools (PS) are coercive and anti-competitive. A huge government
controlled monopoly.
By providing a "free" alternative to private school they undermine
competition. If the State provided free but shoddy housing to all, a great
number would see no need to buy / rent their own housing but with a big
difference: The adults/parents would be subjected to the shoddy nature of
the housing and would be more liable to opt out. Most adults aren't
subjected to the lousy schools and are quite satisfied with the way things
are.
Why is that the most liberal rich politicians send their children to private
schools? It reminds me of the "Dog Food" policy I read about at a major
corporation. When they were forced to use their own product to carry out
their business (eating the dog food), they became their own customers. They
quickly became more responsive to their customers needs.
PS provide 3rd rate quality at 1st at a 1st rate price. Did you know that
there is about $9,000 per student spent in Texas? For a class of 20 that's
$180,000, for 25 it's $225,000, and for 30 it's $270,000, A quarter of a
million dollars per class! Where the heck is the money going?
Almost five years ago we pulled our three children out of PS. We've heard
the arguments that by doing so we undermine the PS system. If that were
true it would be GREAT! But in fact the PS system now has $27,000 per year
to squander on administrators, graft, incompetence and social(istic)
engineering. We consider it an unfortunate gift to the socialist rats who
infest the system.
I'd like to see the day when going to public school is viewed as being on
par with being on welfare or living in public housing, something you only do
when no other option is available.
Parents are routinely pressured to drug their children into a nice compliant
state, or certified under section 504 as disabled so the school can get more
$$$$. It seems the only diversity that is celebrated is race, ethnicity,
sex, or deviant sexuality.
