for me.
Preferably a guy who had his own axe and knew what the hell he was
doing.
That way I wouldn't have to pay for the damage to my roof if I tried
to do it myself.

That's true wisdom imo.
Anyway...why would a guy only have a hour to chop down a tree?
It's not like the thing is going to lift it's skirts and try to make a
break for it before the lumberjack gets there.
I mean even if it had the sense and ability to do so it would be gone
and the problem would be solved without the axe right?
All I would have to do then is hire some guy with a shovel to fill in
the hole.
That shouldn't cost more than twenty bucks or so.
I don't think this is as big a problem as you believe it to be.

True, but if you were a rocket scientist you would have the money to
hire a professional to do it.
Or to buy a chain saw which would be more efficient than an axe.
