1 Thessalonians 5: 1-5. 5-24-2007. |
Vigilance.
Concerning times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything
to be written to you. For you yourselves know very well that the day
of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. When people are
saying, "Peace and security," then sudden disaster comes upon them,
like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, for that day to overtake you
like a thief. For all of you are children of the light and children
of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness.

Yup. It is important to be vigilant about false prophets.
In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing:
they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the
hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness:
they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants
thereof as Gomorrah.

Why would a lovegod preach vigilance? Religion turns people against one
another. Don't think so? Look at 9-11, and the six-year aftermath.
