Object: 1 Timothy 6: 13-16. 9-22-2007.
Exhortations To Timothy.
I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before
Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate for the noble
confession, to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until
the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ that the blessed and only
ruler will make manifest at the proper time, the King of kings and
Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable
light, and whom no human being has seen or can see. To him be honor
and eternal power. Amen.

It was Pilate who was stumped, when he didn't understand Christ's
silence as being a sufficient answer. No doubt you were stumped, too,
until now.

Every man is a sinner, but you are to stay on the straight and narrow
path, teaching the golden rule. Do not be a slave to your sins! Keep
in mind the seven deadly sins, and tend to your business, not judging
others, but instructing them, for there is but one true judge, who
renders a perfect verdict and punishment for each.

Keep guessin', padre. That's what theists do best.

Do not be a slave to your sins!

That is so very ironic, coming from you.

Keep

Why don't you lead by example, padre?

Couldn't be bothered.

Well exactly. We should we be. I can learn far more about
life from a great poet such as Shakespeare than I can from
the Bible which has little, if anything, to offer.
I really do not understand this chap. It should be more than clear
to him by now that we are singularly unimpressed by his Bible
If he is a Christian and padre as his address implies then he
is supposed to be evangelising and selling his religion (which
incidentally is in violation of the newsgroup charter). As the
non-believers we are ones he is supposed to be approaching!
I am merely asking the same basic question that any non-believer
with a modicum of common sense would ask. If he does, indeed
wish to persuade me and others of his beliefs then he aught
to be prepared to answer them. Yet he does not even try. Instead
he sticks his tonque out at us and then simply ignores us.
I cannot image a car salsemen selling many cars if when asked
the price he stuck his tonque out and then ignored his
potential customer.
So Mr. Anonymous has failed even to get over the first hurdle
in his endeavour to sell his religion. Quoting chunks from the
Bibe is, as I say like putting the cart before the horse
For goodness sake most nin-believers would probably just
ignore him and walk away. Here he has a ready audience
asking him questions. What better chance has he to persuade
somebody.
Yet he sticks his tonque out at us and then ignores us!
This is a strange way to sell his religion and is bound
to fail. Thus far he comes across as a fool
I have asked him why he continues this futile quoting
but he does not answer. Clearly he is failing his basic
task of evangelising so perhaps that is not his reason.
Nah it beats me perhaps fool is the best description
other than complete failure.

Poor sots like the padre have been told that the world is crying out for
salvation. Thus they rush in with enthusiasm and are horrified when their
myth is rejected. They then proceeed through the various stages of trauma,
ie: denial, anger, etc.
