Sunday School? I still remember the blank, "deer in front of the headlights"
look on my sunday school teacher's face when I raised my hand and asked if Noah
got sent to hell for not getting any of the dinosaurs on the ark.

Why are you doing this?
Is it hate?
Are your doubts so disturbing to you that you feel the need to post
these articles in alt.atheism as some sort of strange windmill chasing?
I am really trying to understand your motivation for participating.
What draws you here instead of to a newsgroup of users who think the way
you do?

Given that there are no atheist doctrines, exactly what is it that
atheists are supposed to be fundamental about?
You're just using the word fundamentalist, because its a dirty word,

Actually Mr Arse Semen, I became an atheist when my parents sent me to Sunday
school to get me out of the way for a bit of peace and quiet. I was about seven
years old and remember thinking that the Jesus stories were a bit silly - after
all people can't walk on water and rise from the dead.
I started reading science books after that and haven't looked back since.
My adult idea of god is that such a being does not exist and, in the Christian
sense at least, is logically absurd. It has nothing to do with any childhood
indoctrination as you seem to suggest.
Despite my lack of belief in a big sky-buddy I have not turned into a nasty
person. I have a nice home and family with good kids who are doing well, I am
near the end of a career in engineering and am starting to look forward to a
happy retirement.
I do not have a problem with the liberal religions and am happy to attend
weddings, funerals etc in churches. I see the good that liberal religion does
in the community and I welcome it, as I also admire and wonder at the great
works of man created in religion's name, such as sacred music, art, the great
European cathedrals and so forth.
I fail to see why you keep posting these silly strawman homilies into
alt.atheism, other than to generate flames. I personally wish you would just
***** off.

I never went to Sunday school. I became an atheist by observing,
listening (without laughing), and thought things out to their logical
conclusions.

You mean they don't teach the right religion in Sunday school? Man, are
you idiots screwed up. My atheism began when the Sunday School trailer
didn't show up, and us kids had to go into the big church with our parents.
It was there I learned that the adults thought the cartoon characters were
real. I quit going.
