1. Are you married?
2. Have you ever had a girlfriend?
If not then why preach a sexist message? You are the biggest Pharisee
on these boards, and the biggest women hater.

It is not scripture that is sexist, BJ, but you.
Paul and Jesus taught that in Christ, there is no male or female.
And Paul's comments about women speaking out in church was OBVIOUSLY
meant ONLY for the Corinthian church, where the women were evidently
"mouthy" and disruptive.
The PROOF of that is that SEVERAL of the epistles are addressed to the
female ELDERS (pastors) of the church being addressed.
Of course, if you are TOTALLY convinced (brainwashed/closed-minded) of
your POV, you will not see that point.

It is not scripture that is sexist, BJ, but you.

Paul and Jesus taught that in Christ, there is no male
or female.

And Paul's comments about women speaking out in church
was OBVIOUSLY meant ONLY for the Corinthian church, where
the women were evidently "mouthy" and disruptive.

The PROOF of that is that SEVERAL of the epistles are
addressed to the female ELDERS (pastors) of the church

Wow! It seems like we're making things up as we go along, here. What
evidence do we have that Paul ever addressed "female ELDERS (pastors)"
in any of his epistles? It's been a while since I read through them,
but I'm pretty sure that Paul made no such indications. The claim has
no "PROOF," therefore, and is just speculation.
The traditional view was that the women in the Corinthian church(es)
were, indeed, "mouthy and disruptive," and Paul was very explicit when
he wrote (or is said to have written):
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted
unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as
also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask
their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the
church." I Cor. 14:34, 35
Now that's pretty straight-forward, and it's a bit of a stretch to
claim that there is "PROOF" anywhere else that Paul had any different
ideas about women in ohter churches. I'm not aware of any evidence
that women pastored any of the other early Christian churches over
which Paul presumed ecclesiastical jurisdiction, and those early
churches almost certainly continued in their views of women, that is,
women did not lead churches. Most fundamentalist sects don't permit
that to this day (I say "most" because there may be exceptions of which
I am not aware).
So feel free to explain and site this "PROOF," so that we can see if
you didn't just make it up.

Of course, if you are TOTALLY convinced (brainwashed/closed-minded)
of your POV, you will not see that point.

I guess we'll see if he's not alone, right? That's assuming that we
haven't already seen that...

#1 I wasn't addressing you.
#2 If you want "proof", read the Bible sometime. I don't feel inclined
to "prove" scripture to those who
a. don't read it
b. don't believe what they read.

#1 I wasn't addressing you.

You posted in a Usenet group. You were addressing anyone who read and
chose to respond.

#2 If you want "proof", read the Bible sometime.

I read the Bible...apparently more than you.
And here it comes:

I don't feel inclined to "prove" scripture to those who
a. don't read it
b. don't believe what they read.

In other words, you made a false claim that you, in fact, made up, you
know it, you know you were caught at it, and now you're going to run,
because you know you can't answer for it. You're such an amazingly
brazen phony.

That is your POV, to which you are entitled. I happen to not agree.
And I believe I already said that.
Are you so delusional that you believe that your opinion cancels mine?
LOL!!

#2 If you want "proof", read the Bible sometime.

I read the Bible...apparently more than you.

Obviously you don't.
You also seem to suffer the illusion that anyone who disagrees with
you is wrong.
On the contrary, anyone who disagrees with ME is wrong.
(don't try to muscle me, punk! You haven't lived long enough to know
how)

No "In other words" are necessary. I said what I intended to say.
Just because you are too much a mental dwarf to deal with someone you
can't coerce into
1. agreeing with you
2. a moronic discussion
3. submitting to your "superior" intellect
doesn't mean I'm going to bend over and kiss your patootee any time
soon.
Deal with it.
