So is it your intention to be patronizing, or is that just a basic

Mr L. Raymond
if you read my homepage www.phpexpert.org
you will see on there that I explain that I am not
an expert in PHP
and I haven't bothered trying to properly format a
HTML page as the sites I have designed so far have
just been basic text, like the 1 in my signature
and, no, it is not my intention to be patronising
I am just asking a question that will get a honest
answer from someone who has shown himself to be honest
for all I know Doc Smartass could be a qualified
Doctor or someone with a PhD
and I would like to know where he is at
and he may be able to tell me if he reads this first

Heh. I decline to answer the question, as the correct answer can easily be
found in Usenet archives at www.google.com. More fun, that way.

It would be simply Ms. Raymond, not using the initial. I normally
ignore things like that, but when a foolish, patronizing, smug,
theistic self-styled PHP expert (your disclaimers to the contrary,
your use of that domain is telling) who presumes to charge a minimum
of £75 for a "consultancy" job cannot even manage a basic salutation,
then I may as well point out your error.

It is not basic text. Your first lesson: if you want a plain text
site, make use of the <pre> tag. Otherwise, you have indeed put up an
HTML page. As a master web consultant, one would think you'd have
known that.

and, no, it is not my intention to be patronising
I am just asking a question that will get a honest
answer from someone who has shown himself to be honest

No, you are asking a question of someone who gave you an answer you
like. Others were honest, but they were not the honest answers you
were looking for.

It's unfortunately typically christian, They imagine they *K*N*O*W*
something that is supremely important to us and have to use all sorts
of transparent backdoor methods to get it through to us from a
position of ignorant superiority, that actually insults the listener's
intelligence.
