You think you arrived at your position because you are a free-thinker
who rationally weighed the evidence, and then freely chose atheism over
theism. YET, you also believe that your thinking and actions are
nothing more than the FIXED reactions of the atoms in your brain that
are governed by the Laws of Chemistry and Physics.
You love to castigate Christians for being "anti-science" if they deny
evolution from goo to you via the zoo, and to preach that they should
adapt their thinking to the "science" of our day. But you also
castigate the Church of 400 years ago for being anti-science, when it
DID adapt its thinking to the science of ITS day, i.e. Ptolemaic
cosmology, then joined with the Aristotelian scientists of the
universities in rejecting Galileo!

What arrogance! You have never met me or know what my beliefs are yet you
claim you know what they are. This is just arrogant nonsense.
My beliefs are based on known scientific facts instead of myths, folklore
and legend.
The atoms in my brain are working quite nicely, thank you.

Far from being arrogance, I think the above has you pegged quite
nicely.

Apparently not.

nicely.

But you're demonstrably dishonest, so there's no reason to
think you're being honest now.

The atoms in my brain are working quite nicely, thank you.

Apparently not.

It is only unapparent to you because your eyes are closed.

Resolutely ignorant, huh? Yeah, there are a lot of those types in this
group.
They all seem to have this peculiar "AA#" thingy in their sigs. Is that
some sort of secret handshake or something? Can I join?

You should, but won't, learn the difference between "ignorance" and "apathy."

Nope. You're too resolutely ignorant.

Nope, *, damn, still can't seem to muster up a care in the world about
what you think.
And don't you just find it gut busting fucking funny, that all the
ignorant ones, are the ones that claim they speak for their "god"?

What does one have to do with the other?

You love to castigate Christians for being "anti-science" if they deny

Because that's a lovely strawman. But you're too stupid to know
that.

and to preach that they should
adapt their thinking to the "science" of our day. But you also

On Fri 10 Dec 2004 08:03:33a,
kicked back with a
beer, ruminated at length, fell asleep, woke up, lit up a joint, then
fell asleep again after thoughtfully blurting out:

You think you arrived at your position because you are a free-thinker
who rationally weighed the evidence, and then freely chose atheism
over theism. YET, you also believe that your thinking and actions are
nothing more than the FIXED reactions of the atoms in your brain that

You're trapped in your misconceptions about "free will". When you turn
a physical phenomenon into a spiritual force, it's inevitable to become
as confused as you are :)

You love to castigate Christians for being "anti-science" if they deny
evolution from goo to you via the zoo, and to preach that they should
adapt their thinking to the "science" of our day. But you also
castigate the Church of 400 years ago for being anti-science, when it

The Catholic Church wasn't anti-science for accepting Aristotle. It was
anti-science for refusing to move on when Aristotle was proved wrong.
