Battle for Marriage III Calls Church to Action
Last night's simulcast, The Battle for Marriage III, was filled with
direction and inspiration not only for the 3000 who joined us at First
Baptist Church of Springdale, Arkansas but also for the thousands around the
country who joined us via radio and satellite. House Majority Leader, Tom
Delay (R-TX) began the simulcast with a video message thanking the pastors
and churches all across the country that were in this battle for marriage
and he added that this is a battle that "we will win." Dr. Dobson reminded
everyone of how we got to this point, through the acts of unelected,
unaccountable judges. Shirley Dobson followed with an urgent call to pray
for our nation. Pastor Ronnie Floyd had not only his own church but churches
joining by satellite on their feet when he called on pastors and churches to
take a stand in this critical hour.
I gave viewers three action steps: Contact your Congressman at both his home
and D.C. offices this week and ask them to stand for marriage and vote for
the Marriage Protection Amendment that will be voted on in the House
September 30. Secondly, we must pray for our nation, and consider joining
thousands of other Christians who will be praying and fasting on Thursdays
between now and the election. Lastly make sure you are registered to vote!
If you were unable to join us for the simulcast click on the link below to
order a DVD copy of the event to share with your church. Check your local
listings for the rebroadcast on TBN.

Marriage is Protected in Louisiana....For Now
On Saturday, I was proud once again of my fellow Louisianans when they voted
overwhelmingly in favor of a state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex
"marriage." During last night's simulcast, I challenged those in states that
will have constitutional amendments on the ballot November 2 to turn out to
vote in overwhelming numbers and beat Louisiana's 78% vote in favor of
marriage.
While Saturday's vote was a huge victory, the unrelenting opposition
continues. "Conveniently," 52 voting machines did not make it to their
voting locations in New Orleans Saturday morning but were delivered by noon,
and those polls were allowed to stay open an additional two hours because of
the mix-up. This may be all that homosexual activists need to tie up the
outcome in the courts. The polls hadn't even closed before they were
reporting they would ask the courts to throw out the results because of the
disappearing voting machines. They can try but the homosexual activists will
not be successful in silencing the vast majority of Americans who understand
that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.

Faith, Family and Freedom Issues in Congress This Week
While rushing to get the end of year bills out of the way, Congress will
also be working on family, faith and freedom issues this week. First up in
the House is a vote on Wednesday to extend marriage penalty relief, the
child tax credit and the adoption tax credit. FRC has championed these
measures for years and while we would like to see a permanent extension of
these tax measures - we can take some solace in the steps Congress is taking
to protect taxpayers. On Thursday, the House will turn to protecting the
Pledge of Allegiance while also sending a strong message to an activist
judiciary that Congress is not afraid to use its power of checks and
balances when judges overstep their bounds.
While the phrase "under God" is a relatively new addition to the Pledge -
the fact that we are a nation founded on Christian ideals is not.
Unfortunately, there are those seeking to erase our Christian heritage from
our nation's memory, and they are not afraid to use a compliant judiciary to
reach that goal. The Senate has promised to take up these issues
immediately following the action in the House.

Every time I hear these Pro-Theocracy numbnuts repeat their assertion that
America was founded on Christian principles, I am reminded of the folks who
actually paid the bills for the initial settling of America . . . the East
India Company, the Virgina Company of London, and the like. Those folks
didn't give a rats ***** about spreading the gospel or making sure anyone
followed the 10 Commandments. All they wanted was a good return on their
FINANCIAL INVESTMENT. Money. Moolah. $$$. That is what America was
founded on . . . money money money.
