Jesus made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah,
the Son of the blessed God?" Jesus said, "I am, and you will see me, the Son
of Man, sitting at God's right hand in the place of power and coming back on
the clouds of heaven." Mark 14:61-62
Who did Jesus say would see him coming back on the clouds of heaven? Is that
high priest still alive today? Is there any chance that high priest will see
Jesus coming back on the clouds of heaven?
And if thou say in thy heart: 'How shall we know the word which HaShem hath
not spoken?' When a prophet speaketh in the name of HaShem, if the thing
follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which HaShem hath not
spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid
of him. Devarim 21-22

There are a lot of otherwise sane people who believe the second coming
will be within their own lifetimes. Is that wishful thinking or what?

second comings are happening all the time, everywhere... they were
happening even before jesus. and they will keep on happening. forever.
look, vic... theres another one! wow, its you vic!
ps.
lets say that jesus decides to come back as you vic. i mean, if jesus
decided to take your body and make you his 'earthly' representative.
so to speak. hypothetically speaking, of course... what would you do?
would you kill yourself? would you kill some... atheists, for example?
(remember, in this theory, you are jesus, vic) what would you do?

I don't believe there is a god, but if there was, and I was his son (and
part of the "godhead") I would be able to change the moral requirements of
the church so that they would be conductive to a functional society as a
whole, instead of singling out a group of "chosen ones" and opressing all
others. There would be no eternal punishment, and changing your mind
after you have died and gone on to judgement day would be ok. Perhaps a
rehab center would be in order for the truly delinquent souls, someplace
where I could use my powers for good, and zap them all into a functional
society. Christianity portrays an image to its brainwashed followers of
"one big happy family", all men are brothers, etc. and this is FAR from
true. If I (as part god) loved all of mankind, I would be sure to love
*all* of mankind.
And that is my version of wishful thinking.

The rationality factor is zero if not in imaginary numbers.

Yes there is. Hell is called down in the bible, below the earth's surface.
The sinners in hell may be allowed to see Jesus coming back in the clouds,
in their minds, in hell.
People in the afterlife might have an extra sensory perception about many
things that living people don't have. If God wants that man to see it from
hell, then he will see it, even if it is only by esp.

That depends on how rationally they arrive at that conclusion.

The rationality factor is zero if not in imaginary numbers.

There but for circumstances go I.
It is the right and the duty of every person to rationally and skeptically
examine a proposition before accepting it, and if that proposition turns out
to not be supported by logic or evidence, it is the mark of a mature mind to
be able to set it aside and face life as it really is.

find a graphic representation of the hebrew cosmology and you will see
that sheol is in the earth
