21 Ways to be a Good Democrat
You have to . be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
.. believe that businesses create oppression and governments create
opportunity.
.. believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are more of a
threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and
North Korean communists.
.. believe that there was no art before federal funding.
.. believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented
changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving
SUVs.
.. believe that gender roles are artificial, but being homosexual is natural.
.. believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
.. believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders how to read is
somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
.. believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists, who
have never been outside of San Francisco, do.
.. believe that self-esteem is more important that actually doing something
to earn it.
.. believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of is on money to make The
Passion of The Christ for financial gain only.
.. believe that the NRA is bad because it support certain parts of the
Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of
the Constitution.
.. believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
.. believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to
American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Thomas
Edison.
.. believe that standardized tests are racist but quotas and set-asides are
not.
.. believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and a very nice person.
.. believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere in history
that it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
.. believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a
sex offender belonged in the White House.
.. believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and
bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at
Christmas should be illegal.
.. believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese government is
somehow in the best interest of the United States.
.. believe that this message is part of a vast, right-wing conspiracy.

Aside from there being a good indication that we can cover previously
uninsured taxpayers at no additional cost (due to the 20 percent
overhead imposed by the American health-care system, compared to a
couple of percent in Canada), these "conservatives" apparently are in
denial or are trying to fool the pubilc about what is really going on
here.
What we have are large businesses (insurance companies, HMOs, etc.)
running a racket where they (a) use their oligopoly status to squeeze
doctors and hospitals and (b) look for excuses to avoiding paying the
people they insure. Then the doctors and hospitals make up the
difference by charging very high prices to uninsured people, who are
mostly low-income. You bankrupt them, and let the government pick up
the pieces while the really rich guys running the racket make out like
bandits.
That's America under Bush and his Republican cronies. All of us
should be absolutely disgusted with how this place is being run - for
the benefit of the extremely wealthy at the expense of everyone else.
Gilbert had it right when, in _The Pirates of Penzance_, he had
the Pirate King say, "compared to respectability it is a relatively
honest living." If only he were alive today!
Oh, and BTW, denying health care to poor people might be called
_The Bacteria's Bill of Rights_ (TM). Not treating them helps create
a pool of infectious individuals who can then go around casually (and
unintentionally) infecting everyone else - its not like they can stay
home when ill when their income is pretty much hand to mouth.

The US health care system is going to come back and bite the Republifascists

So I pay for a doctor's visit or procedure as I need it and guess what, I

I don't complain that my "employer" isn't doing well by me of threaten to
quit so I can go get a juicy health care plan in the employee of someone

I just pay for what I need when I need it and since I'm amazingly healthy

paying little to nothing for their own health care.

First major accident or illness... well, too bad about your house.
The leading cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical costs. Over half of
our bankruptcies involve people who fell seriously ill or were seriously
injured. They end up losing everything.
And *three-quarters* had health insurance when they became ill or were
hurt.
Of course, in our lovely, Christian nation, the lower and middle classes
have been barred from full discharge of debts. Chapter 7 has essentially
been eliminated in a bill written by the credit card industry and passed
(as ordered) by Congress.
As I'm sure you agree, only the rich have the ability now to discharge
their debts fully. The rest of the public is going to risk being
indentured for about five years if they abusively fall ill or get hurt.
(Just can't get good help these days!)

Are you happy to know that sooner or later, you will suffer for lack

And guess whose taxes will pick up your emergency care at the most

Excuse - me - correctio - guess whose health care plans will be twice
as expensive to pay for your emergency care?
Thanks for being a burden on the rest of us who aren't stupid.

needs.
The churches have had their chances and build bigger churches with their
money.
If you believed what your god said about giving to, caring for, and loving
others you would want for them the same care you want for your self - if you
could afford it.
Only a government can do this today - the christian doctors are making to
much money to care.

Wonder why that is?

You mean plastic surgery?
A handful of wealthy coming down here for--primarily--elective procedures
doesn't constitute a "failure." They, at least, have the means to do so.
We're not talking about thousands pouring over our borders with dying
children.
On the *other hand, we are the ones with thousands looking to Canada for
help because they're having to choose between their medications or food.
Not to mention upwards of 50 million ordinary (as in not rich) people who
can't avail themselves of much of anything.
But I guess only the rich count in your world...

She's also been devoting her life to "the diagram", which she actually
believes proves/will prove that her god exists. What's hilarious is that
she used to have it up on a website until someone pointed out an error (one
of the lines was off in the pyramid of Giza or some such nonsense). We
haven't seen it since ;)
