270 reasons to invade Palestine |
***PALESTINIAN ROCKETS CONTINUE TO FALL IN ISRAEL***
"Two weeks ago Palestinian militant factions, including Hamas, sharply stepped up the rocket fire
from across the border, ending a tenuous six-month cease-fire. About 270 Qassam rockets have been
launched at Israel since then, according to the Israeli Army, many landing in or around Sderot.
Israel has responded by pounding Hamas military compounds and outposts in Gaza and attacking groups
it believes to be rocket-launching cells, mainly from the air. But psychologists and mental health
workers here describe a population that has become paralyzed by the terror of the last red alert and
the dread of the next one. Even taking a shower is stressful, Sderot’s residents say. Rockets can
strike anywhere, anytime, and with the water running, people cannot hear the alert and take
shelter." (Isabel Kershner, The New York Times, June 1, 2007)

Just out of curiousity, do you know the number of bombs and rockets Israel
has fired on the Palestinian civilian population?

Neat bit of rhetoric. Unfortunately for you I have never actually
watched Fox news, either the local or any of their cable offerings.
Try again. Perhaps you can provide some evidence instead of hand
waves.
BTW, if you want something about slaughtering people, look at how
Hamas acted in taking over Gaza. Tossing people from windows is not
exactly making nice.

Just out of curiousity, do you know the number of bombs and rockets
Israel
has fired on the Palestinian civilian population?
Not to mention Lebanon...
This bloody fucking region gave us the three major monotheist
religions, and they're still at war thousands of years hence...
Olrik
George Carlin said it best, to paraphrase; It becomes a contest of "My god
has a bigger ***** than your god".
Actually for the most part the contest in Israel is "stay alive and
keep your children alive".
so slaughtering other civilians with the same goal without provocation
helps them win that contest how?
False premise: the yare not slaughtering civilians and it is not
without provocation.
stop getting your news from fox.
Tossing people from windows is not
exactly making nice.
false premise.
I think you mean false dichotomy.
the fact that muslims kill civilians neither refutes
nor justifies israelis doing so.
You probably missed the "BTW" part. Now where is the evidence for your
claims? You somehow missed that request.

That's not true.
http://hrw.org/reports/2007/iopt0707/1.htm#_Toc170198336
Palestinian Rocket Attacks
From September 2005 through May 2007, Palestinian armed groups fired
almost 2,700 rockets into Israel, killing 4 Israeli civilians, and
injuring 75 civilians and at least 9 soldiers, according to the United
Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA)
(see Appendices III-V for casualty and weapons numbers). Two of those
deaths occurred in the last two weeks of May 2007. An additional six
civilians died in rocket attacks from mid-2004 through August 2005.
Palestinian rockets have also killed at least two and injured at least
21 Palestinian civilians when they landed short of the Israeli border.
The rockets, made in Gaza and generically known as ³Qassams² after the
name of the armed wing of Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, are
highly inaccurate and cannot be directed at a specific target.
Israeli Artillery Shelling
From September 2005 through May 2007, the same period covered by the
rocket attack statistics cited above, the IDF fired 14,617 artillery
shells into Gaza. This fire killed at least 59 people, wounded another
270 people, and did significant damage to many civilian structures.6 Of
the 38 Palestinians killed through September 2006, 17 were children
under the age of 16, 12 were women, and one was a 60-year-old man;
Human Rights Watch, in its field investigations, identified 5 of the
remaining 8 men as civilians.7 A subsequent artillery attack on
November 8 killed or mortally wounded 23 and injured at least 40
Palestinians, all civilians. As discussed below, this last incident led
to an Israeli moratorium on further use of artillery in Gaza, which
continued as this report went to press in mid-June 2007.
These casualties are in addition to those killed directly by Israeli
soldiers during the Intifada, and are only from 2005. The total
casualties from 2000 on are as follows. Note that the majority are
either non-participants or unsure, and 836 are minors.
http://www.btselem.org/English/Statistics/Casualties.asp
You'll note that over half of those killed were not taking part in
"hostilities" though hostilities usually consists of throwing rocks.
http://www.palestinercs.org/crisistables/table_of_figures.htm
That's a lot of civilian deaths for a regime that is allegedly not
targeting civilians. Add to that the arrests, beatings, torture, abuse,
humiliation, economic depravation and mass starvation Palestinians
endure every day from the Israel Occupation Forces for a more complete
picture of what is being done to civilians.

No mention of whether or not these were terrorists, those working on
bombs, or those that the terrorists had set up as human shields. It is
the Palestinians who put their rockets into civilian areas and it is
the Palestinians who put their bomb factories into apartment
buildings.
6 Of
the 38 Palestinians killed through September 2006, 17 were children
under the age of 16, 12 were women, and one was a 60-year-old man;
Still not relevant to the question of the target. The Palestinian
weapons can't have military significance, they are far too inaccurate.
Their rockets can only act as terror weapons. The Israelis work hard
to minimize civilian deaths, but it is hard when the enemy
*deliberately* sets up surrounded by civilians. By the internationally
recognized rules of war Israel is allowed to attack such targets when
the action was on the part of the Palestinians.
Human Rights Watch, in its field investigations, identified 5 of the
remaining 8 men as civilians.7 A subsequent artillery attack on

Is it really? You mean that the Palestinian terrorists deliberately
set up in civilian areas does not matter.
Add to that the arrests, beatings, torture, abuse,
humiliation, economic depravation and mass starvation Palestinians
endure every day from the Israel Occupation Forces for a more complete

Have you looked at the number of college degrees earned by
Palestinians in Israeli jails? Now look at the number of Red Cross
visits that Hamas or Hezbollah have allowed. But go ahead, support the
terrorists.

Then I suppose there are 30,000 reasons to boycott Israel and cut them
off from the family of nations until they straighten their ***** out
(30,000 being the number of purely civilian targets destroyed in
Israel's recent terrorist attacks against Lebanon, including 15,000
apartment buildings, power plants, schools, hospitals, bridges, fishing
boats, grain silos, etc., etc.).

Certainly not.
Why are you miffed when Israel fights back?
I don't think anyone here gets miffed when Israel fights back.
I think it's the blindly swinging around at the innocent bystanders that
we're upset about.
Do you have some examples of their blindly swinging around? Blowing up
a bomb factory in an apartment building is not blind swinging. Blowing
up a terrorist leader and killing some people near-by is not blind
swinging.

Are you going to count the reasons for boycotting the Arab states for
their treatment of millions of Palestinians? Boycott Jordan for killing
thousands of them and driving thousands out of the country? Are you
going to boycott Hezbollah for bringing death and destruction on the
Lebanese population? Are you going to boycott the Palestinians for
their attacks on Jewish civilians?

I will if you count the reasons for boycotting Israel.
Boycott Jordan for killing
thousands of them and driving thousands out of the country?
Sounds like a plan, but Palestinians have more of a tendency to be
driven into Jordan by the Israelis than driven out by Jordan.
Are you
going to boycott Hezbollah for bringing death and destruction on the
Lebanese population?
No, becasue it was Israel that brought destruction on Lebanon, not
Hezbollah. Are you seriously this deluded? Hezbollah captured two
soldiers after years of provocations by israel, including car bombings,
targeted assassinations, mock air raids and other violations of
Lebanese sovereignty. Israel had been planning its attack against
Lebabon long before that, and in fact focused the majority of its
attacks against civilian infrastructure and not Hezbollah, which was a
major factor in the defeat of its ground forces.

Are you going to boycott the Palestinians for
their attacks on Jewish civilians?
There is already a crushing international boycott against the
Palestinians for no other reason than their electing Hamas as their
representatives, which has forced the people of Gaza into near
starvation with the majority living on nothing but flour and sugar.
"The Palestinians" are not a country and do not have control over their
own situation: Israel does. The Palestinians are not starving Israel
into submission or maintaining a decades long military dictatorship and
occupation over Israel. A boycott will accomplish nothing but to
increase the already desperate situation of these people and lead to
more acts of violence. A mild boycott of Israel would be very effective
without being anywhere near as extreme or barabaric as what is being
done to the Palestinians.

That's the blow-back Israel can rightfully expect after decades of
terrorizing the Palestinian people.
A desperate people, like the Palestinians, will resort to desperate
measures against its implacable foe, Israel.

So what should the Germans expect for exterminating 6 million Jews?
