This is the classic CHICKEN HAWK syndrome.
These are people that do not merely have LOW SELF-ESTEEM (which describes
the same people who commit domestic violence by the way). These are people
RACKED by low self-esteem, tortured daily in their uneducated minds by it.
People with too many goals and never having realized any of them.
Some of these people think of the heroism in combat and giving them
approval among members of their society, and so they fantasize about the
glory of war and that opportunity to be heroic and receive adulation.
Others are perhaps tormented by the guilt that they did their best to avoid
service, and so in contrition, their confused minds rally the nation on to
not just war, but victorious war. This may account for some of the fervent
nationalism that is bizarre to the reasoning individual.

on dead soldiers or high-fiving or some equally ridiculous thing. How

not do something to show your support instead of just using their
death as a tool to wage your campaign against President Bush and his
administration?

I help out with a program that sends magazines and books to our
troops in Iraq. That doesn't conflict with my anger at the President
for putting these young men and women in a position to be killed for
a strategy that has made us less secure.

How do you know this? I don't complain about how Bush has fucked over
these young men and women when I'm collecting and packing magazines
and books to send to them. Supporting the troops has nothing to do
with supporting or opposing the policies that put them there.

here in the US has been discussed here long before 9/11. There is
evidence that the reasons why Bushyhead actually reached such high
office are great threats to the US' republican version of democracy.

And as a US citizen, I feel a little embarassed that people as dumb as
*you* still craft apologies for his behavior. Our nation has suffered
from poor schools for so long that I almost suspect a right-wing
