Cosmos, Episode 12: Encyclopedia Galactica
In the vastness of the Cosmos there must be other civilizations
far older and more advanced than ours.
What counts is not what sounds plausible, not what we would like
to believe, not what one or two witnesses claim, but only what is
supported by hard evidence rigorously and sceptically examined.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
For all I know we may be visited by a different extraterrestrial
civilization every second Tuesday, but there's no support for
this appealing idea. The extraordinary claims are not supported
by extraordinary evidence.

Nah, the issue is whether you can trust anything quoted to him now,
since the theist person 'quoting him' has been found to have beenlying

So once again you're shown to be a fucking LIAR LIAR LIAR
Just like those FAKE George Washington quotes you invented:
From: (Dave in Lake Villa)
Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2007 17:24:59 -0500
I guess George Washingtons prophecy was correct when he said in his
inaugural speech :
' If American ever decides to turn its back on God, she will come to
ruin ' . When you toss aside necessary Foundations for morality and
honor to the Creator...then it becomes a springboard to anarchy and
the general populus doing what is 'right' in their own minds
George Washingtons prediction is coming true right before our eyes :"
If America ever turns its back on the Divine Creator, it shall come
to ruin" (his Inagural Speech as first president).
Evidently Dimwitted Dave's knowledge of history is as lacking as his
knowledge of
science, chemistry, physics or biology, as GW's inuagural speech
doesn't
include either quoted sentence.

You skipped the best part.
From Wikepedia
"Flew's conception of God as explained in the interview is limited to
the idea of God as a first cause. He rejects the ideas of an
afterlife, of God as the source of good (he explicitly states that God
has created "a lot of" evil), and of the resurrection of Jesus as a
historical fact. He is particularly hostile to Islam, and says it is
"best described in a Marxian way as the uniting and justifying
ideology of Arab imperialism."

What I find hilarious is that they actually think an atheist suddenly
believing in a god is actually supposed to change our minds or effect us in
any way. Someone losing their mind doesn't mean god(s) exist.

minds or effect us in any way.
It's a huge part of evangelical outreach, this
acknowledgment that "I was lost but now I'm found."
People susceptible to such manipulation assume that
everyone is swayed in equal measure by such tactics.
When someone tells me that so-and-so was a "notorious
atheist" but has now found Jesus, I ask what reasons
compelled the change. This often produces a look of
confusion and disappointment on the face of the
speaker, because from the speaker's point of view I'm
not reacting properly to the mere fact of an atheist's
conversion.
Someone losing their mind doesn't mean god(s) exist.
Almost every conversion story I've heard regarding
former atheists involves one of two things:
a) The rekindling of piety in someone who was not, in
fact, an atheist. It is fashionable for believers to
label, retrospectively, adolescent rage and rebellion
against God-belief as atheism. But when such people
discuss their would-be former atheism, sound little
like the atheists I've known.
b) The desperation borne of an emotionally crippling
series of tragedies, which has reduced the person to a
state of utmost despair and need -- making him ripe
pickings for conservation-minded Christians. But how
much relevance does such a conversion carry? Starving
people may eat pine bark, but you never see pine bark
on the cover of "Good Housekeeping."

Well, if you think about it...if it happened a lot...it would seem like
nothing to them...get it? Even xtians are completely amazed by it...and
that's why they keep dusting off the (single digit in number) corpses of
former 'atheists' who suddenly found god...and it's not always even the
judeo christian fables they turn to...
On the other hand, people awaken and turn away from the fear and lies
of religion every day..around the clock, 365 days a year, all over the
planet with absolutely no fanfare..because they lost nothing of
importance...it all makes perfect sense...

I also can't quite figure out HOW an adult can suddenly start to
believe in Santa Claus(God) again unless some sort of proof was
furnished, even if it was their own delusional "visions" This "I used
to be an atheist" stuff, I just don't get. I don't know how someone
can start to believe in magic again after figuring out it was a sham.

"I used to be an atheist" is one of the most common lies Christians
tell. Sure, it does occasionally happen that an atheist will turn to
some sort of theism, but it's damned rare, and they almost never
become fundy Christians.

By their definition, an "atheist" is anyone who doesn't belong to their
own sect of their religion, and does not therefore believe exactly as
they do.

The ones who say that immediately give themselves away by adding
things like "until I realised that [the] God [I didn't believe existed
in the first place] loved me" or "until I read the Bible [that as an
atheist I didn't find credible in the first place]".
They know they're lying. It's meant to fool other unthinking believers
but they are so sociopathically stupid they imagine it fools atheists.
