Counting up the numbers of boys and girls in a country has never been
so troublesome. On Monday the medical journal the Lancet published a
report estimating that prenatal selection and selective abortion in
India was likely to be causing half a million girls to be culled every
year. Within 24 hours, the Indian medical association weighed in to
dispute the Lancet's figures as out-of-date and exaggerated. The Indian
government has made no formal statement, but is said to be incandescent
with rage.

It's surprising nobody raised this topic in A.A before....
The only hope India and China have for solving this problem is
the same solution Korea has: importing women as brides. Lucky
for both countries their economies are strong, like Korea's.
In fact, my guess is this is why Beijing is letting the economy
grow out of control, to make China a desireable destination for
educated foreign women, especially North Americans and Europeans
of Chinese descent.
Not without a democracy, they won't.

It has been, lightly, a time or two. It's been noted aborting massive
amounts of females would cause a hefty imbalance.

There are other options, like war which might reduce the imbalance.

Or polyandry where one women can have 2 husbands. Might make sense. 3
possible income earners or 2 and a house keeper. Always a baby sitter
and a baby quota that could be increased to 2 as an incentive. 2
children grow up with responsibility to look after 3 aged parents
instead of 1 with a responsibility to look after 2 aged parents. A
lighter ratio. Besides it is better to make love than war. War doesn't
really solve problems.
Not without a democracy, they won't.
No chance of that. The totalitarian system works too well for
corporations. The state resembles a corporate structure. Mussolini
would be proud.

Much better way than war, imo.

I know. It adds to them, but if population decrease is what is wanted
and there are no scruples about how it comes about...
