A bumpersticker begging for a topper |
This morning on my way to work, I was at a stoplight behind a car displaying a
sticker saying:
"I live with a great student of St. Barbabas High School!"
I longed to put underneath it:
"And boy, are her parents pissed!!"

Probably.
Although I confess to being puzzled why so many cars have high school
advertising on them.

Ah, think that I 'get it'.
We have the same thing here in Oz.
Private schools** sell stickers to put on vehicles as a kind of status
symbol to demonstrate that the drivers are rich enough to buy a
sticker.
....................
** "Public" Schools in the UK, where 'private' skools mean private
tuition for royalty, and other buck-teethed inbreds descended from
German robber-barons.

One fine day in alt.atheism, "Dogmantic Pyrrhonist (AKA Al)"

Or shredded American flags. (Although this practice has diminished
considerably since 9-11)
Or Bush/Cheney campaign stickers in brand-new condition.
Or those stupid decals with stick figures representing the members of
your family. You can, however, identify the Catholics families, which
tend to have stick figures marching across more than half the window. I
saw one today with alien faces on them. WTF?

The first sticker indicates that the family has a (great) student at
the local high school.
The second changes the meaning to imply that the driver is living in
sin with said student and presumably having frequent sexual
intercourse with her.

Erm, I 'think' that I can follow that, thanks.
Does "great" mean of enormous mass?

But why "pissed"?
Why are they not sober?
