No. But what is a cosmic time scale?

Time it takes for cosmic events: stars forming and using up their
hydrogen and turning to white dwarfs or black holes, planets forming,
continents rearranging. That sort of thing. Many people talk about
having an eternal afterlife, but I can't imagine anything more
horrifying. I look forward to ending, someday.

Lol - well, according to my research - we just don't have much of a
choice. Thank goodness your memory is pretty well wiped so you don't
have to remember living over and over and over. You die - you think
you die. Good for you, eh?

In earth time? I don't care about dying anymore.

It is good to see someone who is taking responsibility for their

final

decision. Once a sentient being is certain of the eventuality of
their own death, this final decision should be seriously

considered.

Circumstances may take the choice of exactly when to die out of

your

hands, but that is no excuse for not doing any planning. Does

this

sound reasonable to you?

Of course!

Amazing. We have found something important we agree on.

Sir - you may have the wrong idea about me. A LOT of these goofballs
(I'm not calling you one) in alt.atheism have the wrong idea about me.
I do not belong to a religion. I saw angels. Then I remembered a bunch
of stuff that happened in the past (OBE's, future dreams, past lives,
etc.), and started to put 2 and 2 together. That's IT. I have 1/2 a
puzzle here with pieces that are missing. The puzzle I'm putting
together doesn't fit with religious people, nor with atheists.
My puzzle builds a picture that God exists - but does not know it's a
god - or even gives a damn. My puzzle is building a picture that
indicates we (earthlings, angels, aliens, whatever) are nothing more
than objects in ITS thoughts... "Constructs" somebody called them.
My puzzle is revealing that the "stuff" that keeps us alive is God's
creative energy. It's **using** us to work out issues in it's own
mind. When it's done, we're discarded - left on our own. We die - we
turn back into mere brain matter until God figures we could serve as
one of his problem solvers again. (Hence - past lives).
That is what I think. So I don't know what you have in mind when
you're talking to me.

Do you have expectations of an afterlife?

It's not an expectation for me. It's just a matter of fact.

Your certainty is foreign to me. After the Sun comes up each morning
and my trusty motorcycle starts, most everything else is up for
grabs. ;-)

You mean you've never had a dream (literally) come true??

I wonder why people can't bring themselves to refer to it as
afterdeath.

Because of evidence of future and past lives, there is no such

thing as

death. Human Death is really just shedding the body - Like lizards

do.

I haven't seen that evidence. So I assume death will be the end of
the cooperative existence of the cluster of cloned cells known as

John

Popelish. But the ride is pretty thrilling while it lasts.

R U in alt.atheist

I am reading your posts in alt.atheism if that is what you mean.

Ok. I'll cut out the other newsgroups.

Oldwetdog will be relieved.

Oldwetdog can kiss my...

John Popelish

Research?
I've seen claims about you having seen something for which there is no more
evidence than for those who see ants on their body when no one else sees
them or the man who, in one memoriable experience ( a seventh day Advent
hospital where the doctors had never seen anybody with DT's) a wheel barrow
in a doorway.
But research usually results in evidence that isd visible to all.
I've seen none of that.

Angels are pretty much unique to religions. They don't make it into the
general scientific literature much.
But a few clear cut examples of "future dreams" or OBE's would convince us
and make you a million dollars richer. You only need one for the money.

You might as well make up a word rather than use the term god since your
definition does not meet common usage.

Mary Baker Eddy would have agreed with much of what yoy say.
<snip>

You mean you've never had a dream (literally) come true??

No one has other than that which can be explained by random chance.
If 2 billion people dream somebody has just died, the chances are good that
some of those dreams will be "true"
No one has ever documented much more than that. FYI document does not mean
claiming that your dream matched perfectly *after* the event happened.

When people claim they have evidence for something I'm always interested.
It's called curiosity and is common to many.

You're assuming that. Intererstingly, something that atheists jump all

over

Xtians for.

You used the word "angels". They are, for the vast majority of the world
creatures created by the chrtistian god(s) and mentioned in christian
religious teachings.
If you wish to use that common word to mean something else you will have to
tell us about it.
When I say "STOP" most people will assume that I wish some action or
progress to cease. If you want it to mean go you certainly are free to but
most will have problems.

<snip> Your "satire" is "tire-ing." Goodbye.

Satire?
You make claims and state you have evidence. I see nothing but opinions
molded on other religions.
Surely you could do some good with a million dollars?
Iron clad, absolutely guaranteed as long as you agree with mutually arrived
at testing procedure.

Is that why they appear in ancient Sumerian and Eygptian art?

I plonked Mike because he wants to play games, and pretend that he doesn't
know art was the prominent form of literary communication in ancient
civilizations.
I also like to plonk people who can't see what's right in front of them,
so... guess what.

Which of course does not translate into what we do today or with the
accepted meanings of words today.
Rather than progress with a dialog when asked for something at best
anecdotal he adds people to his kill file, yet continues to respond.
