L. Ron Hubbard: "There was no Christ..."
- From "Assists" lecture. 3 October 1968. #10 in the confidential Class VIII
series of lectures:
"Anyway, Everyman is then shown to have been crucified so don't think that
it's an accident that this crucifixion, they found out that this applied.
Somebody somewhere on this planet, back about 600 BC, found some pieces of
R6, and I don't know how they found it, either by watching madmen or
something, but since that time they have used it and it became what is known
as Christianity. The man on the Cross. There was no Christ. But the man on
the cross is shown as Everyman. So of course each person seeing a crucified
man, has an immediate feeling of sympathy for this man. Therefore you get
many PCs who says they are Christ. Now, there's two reasons for that, one is
the Roman Empire was prone to crucify people, so a person can have been
crucified, but in R6 he is shown as crucified."

Your saying Hubbard was anything else besides a con artist is more
telling about your character than the length of someone's signature; no
wonder you objected so to the links and tried in vain to play to 'kook
card'.
Many people enjoyed the masterpieces of science fiction produced by L.
Ron Hubbard, and I happen to be one of them. You can't argue against my
opinion.
No, and you can't confront the pieces of information about Hubbard which
Lord Xenu quoted. All you can do is to cut them out so you don't have to
look at them.
The information isn't going away, tho', and it's time that the mind-fucked
victims of the criminal cult known as the "church" <spit> of $cientology
started thinking about how to live in the era of the Internet where
information cannot just be made to go away.

Nazis, in their practice of eugenics, posted to USENET with signatures
longer than five lines? I guess they must have crossposted all over the

My newsreader application actually warns you if you try to post a
message with a signature that's "against the rules". It says it should
be up to "4 lines of 80 characters each" rather then 5 lines ...
although I'm not sure if those four lines include the netiquette
defined "signature separator" line. (You can ignore the warning and
post the message anyway, and there's probably a Preference option to
turn off the warning.)

I don't find it offensive when it's true. But, when a troll

many people have suffered from this disease for some

Well perhaps a better response would be "So what if he did?". The way
you went off, it seemed as if you agreed that there was some stigma
involved. And to judge from other posts to this thread, it would seem
that Asimov actually did have AIDS, so the "lying *****" part (or at
least the "lying" part) could have been a little premature. <g>

Sadly, Isaac Asimov did die of AIDS. He got a transfusion during an
operation and it had tainted blood. It was before there was effective
screening tests for AIDS for the nation's blood supply.
It wasn't his fault; it was the fault of the AIDS donor who didn't

Sadly, Isaac Asimov did die of AIDS. He got a transfusion during an
operation and it had tainted blood. It was before there was effective
screening tests for AIDS for the nation's blood supply.
It wasn't his fault; it was the fault of the AIDS donor who didn't
warn anyone.
I hope the idiot who posted the " Isaac Asimov died of AIDS" line --
completely gratuitously, I might add -- gets his own taste of it.
Telling the truth about someone's condition is now somehow bad karma?
No. But some interpreted your comment as a clumsy attempt to insinuate
that Asimov was gay. Not that it would matter if he was, of course...
What does that say about the wild-eyed religious bigots who constantly
natter about L. Ron Hubbard's death?
What does religious bigotry have to do with it? Scientology isn't a
religion, it's a scam....oh....wait......never mind. <G>

Isaac Asimov has died. This has saddened and lessened the world.
Some day you will die, the world will be a brighter place after that.

That was my first reaction, Ed. But I think he was talking about

Since there wasn't a test, it was very unlikely the donor did know.

Your 20-line sig makes you seem like a total kook. Just saying.

about
the Clam Cult. That's a good thing.
Yet you X-No-Archive your posts so that they will not be stored. You

Your saying Hubbard was anything else besides a con artist is more
telling
about your character than the length of someone's signature; no
wonder you
objected so to the links and tried in vain to play to 'kook card'.
Many people enjoyed the masterpieces of science fiction produced by L.
Ron Hubbard, and I happen to be one of them. You can't argue against my
opinion.
Many people also observe proper netiquette, which demands a
5-line-or-less signature. You, purportedly for a good cause, have
violated this sacred code, just as the Nazis did when they practiced
eugenics.
Wow, this one got netiquette AND Nazi references in the *same post*!
Extra points!
Sure, you can think Hubbard was a writer of science fiction
masterpieces.
But he still died with a buttful of Visatril, and lied about just about
everything.
You can postulate all you want, but it won't work to deny those facts.
Isaac Asimov died of AIDS.
So what?
