A Few Words On the 'Goodness' of 'Good' and 'God' |
Nothing too 'deep' here. Just something to type at three o' clock in the
morning.
If an atheist and a Christian were both to (a) help a little old lady cross
the street, (b) save the life of a drowning toddler, in the space of one
hour and *then* be equally responsible for causing (c) lasting world peace,
guess which one is 'rewarded' with *eternal* agony, anguish, misery,
torment, and suffering beyond words according to right-wing, religious
right, Christian Theology?
Ahhh, you guessed.
But *why* so, Mr. and Ms. Smarty-pants?
Awww, you guessed. That's right, because the atheist -- never having seen
any conclusive proof, hell, not even a *speck* of proof proving the actual
existence of a 'God', let alone a 'Son' of one who's 'God' -- failed to
believe a 'God' exists. Therefore all the 'good' the atheist may have done
in his or her life goes by the wayside simply because said 'God' failed
utterly in proving his existence to that atheist.
That would be 'God's' fault for failing to provide sufficient proof of his
existence, not the atheist's for not being provided it.
Why we're *supposed* to have enough 'faith' he exists, says the right-wing
evangelical Christian. That will prevent one from being sent to Hell for
eternity.
Really? Then why do TV evangelists point to so-called 'miracles' as proof
there's a 'God' and not just say, 'Hey, that wasn't a 'miracle' miracle, it
was just a stroke of good luck!' when they're a preachin' in their
Mega-churches?
And speaking of miracles: Here the one about the parachute jumper whose two
parachute failed to open yet managed to get up and walk away from the fall
completely unscathed? Now, surely, 'God' saw to it that that jumper land
unharmed. 'Who or what else could have possibly done so?' asks the
bright-eyed, Jesus-loving right-wing evangelical Liberty University theology
student! 'Kronos' or Zeus, perhaps?
But seriously, let's take that incredibly 'lucky' parachute jumper and have
him (or her) climb back into the plane and jump five more times without
those chutes opening and see what happens to Mr. or Ms. 'God Watched Over'
parachutist. 'Roadkill' would look better. So much for 'miracles'.
Last bit here on the subject: Try explaining to yourself why 'Doubting
Thomas' would 'doubt' that Jesus had truly risen from the dead when (as) he
was *told* by his master -- on *several* occasions he would, (b) he himself
had been endowed with the power of raising the dead to life by none other
than Jesus (Matt. 10:8, cf. Mt. 11:4), and (c) he purportedly saw Jesus
raise Lazarus from the dead! And then ask yourself this: If Jesus had not
appeared to Thomas in so unmistakable a way, would he have been sent to hell
for his failure to 'believe'? And if it took a 'in your face' appearance to
convince Thomas Jesus was deity (or at least 'semi-deity') -- and Saul of
Tarsus for that matter -- why does not the atheist be treated to such
conclusive proof? God *want* the 'Doubting Thomases' of the world to suffer
eternal torment and suffering or something? Is *that* the true hallmark of a
'loving', forgiving 'God'?
Hey, if being as 'good' a person as I can possibly be is not good enough --
and I mean 'good' in the best sense of the word -- for Mr. 'I Demand
Perfection from the Imperfect Creatures I Deliberately Designed Impefect',
well he can go kiss my ROYAL imperfect *****. Any dumb-***** deity that would
deliberately suffer millions to a fate of eternal torture and suffering
beyond description for *his* inability to convince those millions he
actually *did* exist is not fit to be Zeus' 'sandal-shine' boy, let alone
deity!

Hey 'Pastor' Greywolf! You plannin' on *sellin'* some a these sermons from
that Mega-Church you call a 'prison'?
Think of publishing some of your crap and passing it out in crowded subway
cars anytime soon?
Gonna put on a robe and a crown o' thorns and start walking across the Fox
River anytime soon, are you?
Lordy, Lordy. Some people think themselves more of themselves than they
should.
Well, at least the Christians have him hopelessly trapped and confined in
the most miserable of conditions. Should have him singing 'Amazing Grace' in
just a month or two more. Just one more month or two. He'll *surely* 'crack'
by then!
