A Holocaust at the Terre Haute 'Holocaust Museum'

On Tuesday, November 18th, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the CANDLES
museum (standing for Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab
Experiments Survivors) operated by Eva Kor (pictured) was set
ablaze. In the wee hours of the morning, someone apparently broke a
museum window with a brick, and then threw in a burning object and
an accelerant of some kind. Everything in the building was said to
have been burnt in a real holocaust, even glass display cases.
Now here=92s where it gets interesting: Someone supposedly wrote
=93Remember Timmy McVeigh=94 on the museum wall, which somehow survived
a blaze which consumed everything else. Timothy McVeigh was executed
in Terre Haute in 2001. Because of the graffiti, this is being
called a hate crime. =
The culprit is still on the loose, so the International Association
of Arson Investigators is posting a $5,000 reward for information
leading to his arrest. The ADL is chipping in too, with an
additional $2,500 reward. =
The CANDLES museum was founded by Eva Mozes Kor about eight years
ago. Kor claims to have been abducted by the Germans during World
War II and taken to a concentration camp, where, she says, numerous
experiments were performed on her by Joseph Mengele, including
having blood pumped from one arm while the other was injected with
various unknown substances. She has vowed that the museum will be
rebuilt, saying somewhat confusedly "It couldn't be as bad and it's
not as bad as being and living dead on the floor for two weeks while
I fought for my life in Auschwitz." =
Kor did not disclose how she could rebuild the museum if all of its
artifacts had been burned. The financial condition, fundraising
needs, and insurance coverage of the museum before the fire were not
disclosed. =
Kor has been soliciting money at the group's Web site since 1997
and, with the assistance of class-action lawsuit king Mel Weiss, has
been attempting to sue the Bayer aspirin company for millions of
dollars, claiming that Bayer participated in the alleged
experiments. Her attempts to become a millionaire have not been
successful so far. =
