The Colorado fellow who claimed that people could switch his Christmas
lights on and off via the internet has come clean and admitted that it
was a hoax. He also added a nice bit of hypocrisy to the season with
his
advice to a youngster to "always tell the truth".

I want to set up a REAL link that would allow visitors to my web site
choose my current music. I think it would be cool (maybe even kwel) to
suddenly be subjected to another's whim. I never have to worry about
that when I turn on the radio, since it is always the same thing I just
heard an hour ago...
Hmmm....... interesting idea...
Does anyone have clues about how to take a web link and pass it into
Windows Media Player? Or I suppose I could whip up a Linux boxen if that
would be harder and less useful. Thanks for any help.
You can set up your own 'Radio Station' with Jet audio..

But I dunno if it would let others choose what is being played though.

'Realism is seductive because once you have accepted the reasonable
notion that you should base your actions on reality, you are too often
led to accept, without much questioning, someone else's version of what
that reality is. It is a crucial act of independent thinking to be
skeptical of someone else's description of reality.'-
