has mounted a devastating response to those creationists who are
spreading lies abut what "Darwinism" (whatever that is) and evolution
are "responsible for":

It won't do a damn thing. These people will listen to their
preacher, not reason. No amount of scientific proof will sway
them from their psychotic hold on creationism.
If their best argument is; "It's just a theory," then you know
there's more going and an intelligent discourse with them is
impossible. You can't teach a pig to sing.

We're not actually trying to teach pigs to sing. We're trying -- if I may
retain your imagery -- to get pigs to become less confident about their
singing, more worried about being ridiculed for their singing, less able to
force their singing on other pigs' children, less likely to try and sing
while others wish to speak, etc, etc...

But you are expecting too much from a pig. They are too confident
in their beliefs, too confident to the point they automatically
reject anything that does not 100% support their god beliefs.
They are not worried about being ridiculed for their ignorance -
they take it with pride. They are proud to be morons. As I like
to say, their ignorance is supported by their arrogance.
You got one thing right - we must keep them from spreading their
ignorance to our children.

Before you make any more bacon out of this porcine metaphor, you both
have a point. On the one hand there are wa-ay too many of them who
will never change their minds, but that's not why I do this. I do
this for the next generation which is always more important than the
present one (within reason!). For that very reason, we must keep
chipping away at their asinine beliefs, and we must fight them tooth
and nail to prevent their religion taking over the schools. The more
armament we can bring to bear on this, the better.
They will lose eventually. It's inevitable. It's not going to be in
our lifetime, but that's no reason to give up.

Belief in the hereafter makes death less permanent and thus more
acceptable.
I think if 'dying is such a wonderful thing, if your a Christian of
course, than we should send the Christians to Iraq and one devout
believer can kill the other to prove their god is better, or maybe
their version of the same god or =B7 =B7 =B7

It's such a bizarre concept that I cannot help but believe they
know they're fooling themselves.

I agree - it's their holy war, let them go fight it. Bush should
send his daughters, the Army will take people with drug offenses now.
