Actually, the boy had left his church and turned to devil worship.

<rofl!> Look at what you just typed. You note that he
remained a Christian.

my reply:
The boy who turned to devil worship was no longer a Christian (assuming
he
was one to start with). True christians don't serve the devil. Devil
worshipers do.
By the way, just because the boy left his church in no way means he
was a Christian in the first place. Going to church does not
automatically
mean a person is a Christian. There are churches all over this country
filled with members who serve themselves and their denominations rather
than
God as He reveals Himself in the Holy Bible. These people work iniquity
and
Jesus will tell them to depart from Him:
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity.

Satanism, by definition, is a Christian heresy.

Nice observation, but Greg is completely right. The Trad Satanist
believes a good deal of Christianity, but simply gives his allegiance
to a different master.
That said in the last 30 years or so, this has changed to some extent
in as much as some have attempted to redefine "Satanism" without
reference to Christianity, which irrelevant of what one may think of
that is an interesting move in its own right. The Church of Satan
holds itself to be atheist, for example, but it's rather more
interesting offshoot, the Temple of Set, does hold to the idea that
there are literal gods.

And the most powerful of the Christian Tetrad of Deities.
God the Father, God the Son, the Holy Ghost and Satan.
The first 3 put together seem to be an about even match for the last,
possibly a tad weaker, making Satan at least three times as powerful
as their other shape-shifting super-heros.
If you are going to go to the bother of housing Christian delusions in
your head, then Satan is the only way to go!

Does this thread sound a lot like the Christian threads that claim that atheism
is really Satanism. I guess they believe it because they see both opposed to
their god so they must be the same. Amazing that sounds like a more
justifiable definition than associate Christianity and Satanism, because they
share mythology and we just can't seem to find enough legitimate problems with
Christianity.
Classic "us/them", lump all your enemies into one group and you don't have to
deal with them as humans. Gotta love it. Regardless of how far we travel from
our roots, we are powerless to break them.

Anything or anyone that does not share their core beliefs is a product of
Satan.

Lying by definition is saying that a Christian tried to do this
devilish act when the article indicates that the one who tried to do
this had "turned to devil worship":

that he recently left his church and turned to devil worship."
