A STUDY OF THOSE WHO LACK THE COURAGE
OF THEIR OWN CONVICTION
By New10.
There have been hundreds of university studies in every social
psychology class on influence and persuasion. In a controlled
experiment twelve students collude to distort their perception. One
student who is not part of the conspiracy is asked to compare a line
printed on card one to three lines printed on card two. The lines are
numbered one, two and three. It is obvious that line two is the same
on
card one. But the conspirator's say that line three is the same on
card
one. 34% of the students went along with the distortion knowing full
well what the correct answer is. Not to stand out from the rest of the
group they chose the distortion.
I make a case that 34% of the population has been cowed into
their religious beliefs.
