Object: A window into Gastrich's mind (it's not pretty in there)
I always knew that Gastrich was challenged when it came
to scholarship and logic, however, I don't think it is possible
for a normal person to really relate to his inadequacy.
In a different thread these gems need to be preserved as
evidence he is logically challenged. http://tinyurl.com/5wjfm
Dana Tweedy commented:
Jason, AiG is not a scientific organization, it's a religious
ministry. They are not scientists either. Why do you think
they can answer the question in a scientific manner?
Gastrich replied:
You're incorrect. I've heard lectures and met many
AIG scientists.
Dana responds:
AiG members are not scientists, at least when it comes to
Creationism. They have pledged not to contradict their
religious position, which means they cannot be scientific
when it comes to that position. If you look at the site,
you will see it's a religious ministry, not a scientific
organization.
It is at this point that Gastrich comes out with two analogies
that can only be described as hilarious. They are of Monty
Python quality with regard to comedy. Obviously he is
missing his true calling. So without further ado, here is
Gastrich's mind open for all to examine:
Gastrich replied
Even if they had an unwavering devotion to the scriptures,
this still doesn't mean they couldn't do science!
The Nazis had an unwavering devotion to war, but this
doesn't mean they weren't soliders. On the contrary.
Bill Clinton had an unwavering devotion to the Democrat
party, but this doesn't mean he wasn't a politician. On the
contrary.
A nice reply to this howler was from Grinder
( http://tinyurl.com/57wyg ) who wrote:
START QUOTE from Grinder

The analogy that *would* fit with the others would be:
Even if AIG had an unwavering devotion to the scriptures,
this still doesn't mean they couldn't be religious!
END QUOTE from Grinder
If you're reading Jason. Do you understand why your analogy is
so idiotic? Do you realise that every time you post on usenet this
is what everyone sees? Do you understand now why both non-
religious and religious people alike are critical of your scholarship?

this still doesn't mean they eat their vegetables.
