AA: A Good reason for being an atheist |
A GOOD REASON FOR BEING AN ATHEIST
http://www.randi.org/joom/content/view/141/1/#i4
Reader Linh Vien Thai writes from Japan:
"I have a close friend who knows a fellow who is traveling and writing
about weird places. There’s a place in Mexico where Mayans are
worshiping in the weirdest ways. Culturally they believe that
belching/burping is "evil" leaving the body. Hence the traditional
belching concoction has now been replaced by the more cost-effective
Coca Cola.
Imagine that!
I thought it’s a joke, but it’s not. See
philipcoppens.com/chamula.html. I believe our traveler is an atheist
who’s found a great example of why he is one. It’s hard to imagine but
then again when it comes to fundamental believers, anything goes."

This is from a cassette tape, might have been "Class Clown" that a bunch of
my friends and I used to listen to when we went to a friend's family's cabin
in Upper Greenwood Lake, NJ and spent the weekend drinking beer and getting
stoned (late 70's). We listened to it constantly and it never got old ;)

Good times, good times ;)
Exactly. Then we'd listen to rock and sometimes 'Mary Jane' might make a

Yes indeedy. Listened to a lot of "Dark Side of the Moon".
