Object: AA Buuuahahahahahahahaaaaaaa! and evil.
Imagine the fun of being a delivery driver...
....a gawdless atheist delivery driver...
....and one of my customers is the "big" local christer school!
Prayer doesn't fix cars.
Funniest delivery to them was a roll of rubber hose. Considering their
draconian disciplinary style, I figure it's for the teachers.
The rules:
http://www.pensacolachristiancollege.com/rules.htm
Two of the shorter categories:
OFF CAMPUS RULES:
As stated in the Student Handbook, leaving campus is a "privilege;" one
which the administration will revoke as they see fit.
Students must return to campus by 10:00 p.m. every night, including
weekends.
A student must "scan out" at the campus computers, notifying the school
of exactly where he intends to go off-campus.
If the intended destination is not listed on the computer, the student
must obtain a permission pass from various staff at designated times.
This is also applicable if you wish to leave campus on a Sunday.
You may not go to Cordova Mall after 5:00 p.m.
There are a myriad of restaurants the students are not allowed to go to,
although faculty and staff frequent them (more specifics on campus).
Freshmen/Sophomore women must leave campus in groups of three or more.
Junior/Senior women, in groups of 2.
No more than twenty students may meet off-campus without specific
permission.
Males and Females are to use separate public beaches and may not go to
the popular Pensacola Beach or to the nearby Boardwalk.
You may not go to a public library.
You may not go onto the campus of any other college in the Pensacola
area.
Women are not allowed to hold off campus jobs. (All school jobs during
the year pay minimum wage or below)
MEDIA:
A large amount of magazines are considered pornography and are not
allowed, including: Men's Health, Muscle & Fitness, Cosmopolitan, Vogue,
etc.
The Publishers Clearing House contest application has a sticker for
Playboy and is not allowed
The BMG or Columbia House music club catalogs are not allowed
Music is limited to classical, hymns, accepted "new age" and
instrumental, and that distinctive "PCC sound."
No "paraphenelia" (posters, books, stickers, etc) associated with "non-
passing" media is allowed in your dorm, on your person, or in your car.
You may recieve demerits for having your radio tuned to a "non-passing"
radio station, even if you have not touched the dial since you were home.

I think it's covered under "Dress Code"...did you see how the MALE dress

The most amusing thing, for me, was when I was looking all this up in
Google Earth. I typed in "pensacola christian college" and got back several
hits for the school itself...and two Comfort Inns, a Red Roof Inn, and a
Motel Six.
Hmmmm.

The rules:

http://www.pensacolachristiancollege.com/rules.htm

Granted, the First Amendment guarantees freedom of assembly; but PCC is a
privately-owned entity, and these rules are part of the condition for
enrollment. I'm assuming that subjects--er, students--have to sign a sort
of waiver agreeing to those terms.
It sucks, yeah, and former PCC students are some of the wildest partiers
for that same reason: after being hemmed in for years, they go apeshit
when they're not under the church-school's thumb.

No The Constitution forbids Federal, State, or Local LAWS from being
passed that forbid things that they are not allowed to forbid in the
bill of rights, it does not extend to private contracts.
For instance, The Federal Governement is forbidden from passing a law
saying you cannot say: "I think Flag burning is OK" or "The KKK, in
this case, is right" but it does not stop you from being held liable
for violating a non disclusure agreement, such as engineers enter
into, and publish the schamtics of the design they were working on in
private.
The line gets even grayer on certain subjects and that is where many
legal battles are fought, such as laws about profanity. I lean more
towards constitutional absolutism, but even I can acknowledge that
someone publishing the names and locations of CIA operatives overseas
is not really covered under "freedom of speech"
However there are some old traditions and new ones that disturb me.
Such as the old and still enforced crime "assembly without a permit"
which is, to me, very clearly a violation of the constitution. Or stop
light cameras, which include both an inability to confront ones
accuser(it is a machine) and guilty until proven innocent: two things
forbidden under Constitutional Law. The ultimate nail in the coffin,
upheld by neo-coservatives serving fat cats and nanny state liberals
in the SCOTUS, was the allowing of the government to confiscate
privately held real estate, and give it to developers for private use
under a very sketchy interpretation of imminent domain. It personally
was the tipping point for me to think the US dream is now gone, and
the country beyond any hope of being just.
This has left a group of people very upset with the catchphrase : The
US Constitution, Void where prohibited by Law"

The most terrible evil in the universe:

Critical thinking.

Well, we can't have that, can we?
I once told me fundy (former) secretary that I didn't believe that any
book was harmful. She was aghast. She asked what my reaction would
be if I "caught" my daughter reading The Satanic Bible. I told her
that my daughter didn't need to hide anything she was reading from me
and that she had already read TSB. I had asked my daughter how it was
and she had given me a synopsis. I didn't think it was a big deal
because my daughter had free rein in the library. My secretary, otoh,
predicted dire consequences -- none of which actually happened.

There's a huge billboard for that exhibit on one of the main roads here--
