Finally I'm getting things on my end straightened out and you can, once
again, get to the newsgroup's website at:
http://www.alt-atheism.org/
Or at least you should. If you can't get there, let me know so I can
figure out what's wrong.
The site is still hosted over L. Raymond's way and, for now, you're
redirected that direction. But I'm getting set up to host the site here at
the house. Have a mostly functioning version running now. Hopefully won't
be too much longer before that's done...

Actually, it's been moved to Mark Bilbo's server (hurray!), and I
suspect he's having problems with the database inclusion file,
probably having forgotten to alter the connect string to fit his own

Actually, we had a thunderstorm yesterday and had a power drop out. The
server rebooted but I had overlooked setting the database up properly to
be started during boot. I'd started it manually for testing then neglected
to finish setting up the run level right.
Very bonehead maneuver on my part. But it's fixed and back up now.
(And on to the next glitch. I'm sure there'll be a few more show up over
the next several days. But it'll settle down.)

Definitely more widely thanked. And especially given that L. is the one
who kept the site alive when Carl wasn't able to continue hosting it. I
intended to have picked up doing the hosting *ages ago but life went
unrelentingly nasty for a while. The site could have just faded into the
sunset during that gap if L. hadn't kept it going.
Also, L. did the current design. Which I've always thought was a good one.
I've always thought a light, clean design is better than all the dancing
gifs and javawhistles some people seem so fond of. I never could stand
"busy" sites. And the leaner the better as most people are still on
dial-up.
Come to think, I'm on DSL that runs near T1 speeds and I've seen sites be
*noticeably slow loading because of all the flash animation and spinning
gifs and dancing bears and hoola hooping penguins...

Actually, that's one of the reasons the site's being moved over to one of

The AA# list is incomplete. I have 2165, but the list on the site stops
at 2100

The way it's set up, it takes a full 100 entries before it'll show on the
site. So when the database reaches number 2200, a link should show for
2101-2200.
I've been thinking of some way to change that so that entries appear
immediately but for now am concentrating on making sure the site *runs
right (and consistently). I'm not making changes until I know I've got a
solid set up...

Its also incorrect.
It has the wrong name with my number. : /
I'm guessing its from an older version.
Oh well, right now the list isn't even available. hopefully it will
be fixed.

Mark said that he would correct it on the website list.
It was old info from before I changed your entry on
my list.

It will be.

Thanks to continuous computer problems after I got my new computer,
I wasn't able to work on the list until recently. I've made some changes
and additions over the last few days, but these are all for numbers before
2100. I'll start adding 2101-2188 this week on my website, then add
them to the newsgroup webstire. Do you want your nickname added to
your list entry?

Should be fixed over here now. And I forwarded the info to Mickey.

Sorry about that. Had a thunderstorm roll through here with some rather
nasty lightning and the power was doing the "flicker" dance. Seems to have
caused a reboot but the database didn't start back up.
Still some bugs in the system I need to squash...
(Should be all back up now)
