• ROBERT DREYFUSS is a leading investigative journalist and author
specializing in issues of politics, the intelligence community and
national security. His writings have appeared in Mother Jones, The
Nation, American Prospect, New Republic, Newsday, Public Citizen, New
Republic and other publications. Dreyfuss’ ground-breaking reports
about the war in Iraq and post 9/11 U.S. foreign policy drew media
acclaim.
Mr. Dreyfuss has also profiled the political scene, with articles about
Howard Dean, Trent Lott, disgraced House Majority Whip Tom DeLay and
George Bush.
“He’s a virtuoso,” said American Prospect co-editor Robert Kuttner
referring to Dreyfuss. “He’s got the classic great reporter’s ability
to persuade sources to confide in him and he's got the gift of a great
storyteller.”
A graduate of Columbia University, Mr. Dreyfuss is a member of the
American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA), and the prestigious
Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE).
His latest work is the highly acclaimed book DEVILS GAME, How the
United States Helped Unleash Fundamentalist Islam. In this
extraordinary work, Dreyfuss delves into the complex history of Islam,
and exposes the failure particularly of the Bush administration to
apprehend the dynamics of fundamentalist Muslim religious ideology. He
demonstrates the disastrous (and little publicized) history of how
Western powers, including the British and Americans, sought to achieve
elusive foreign policy goals by subsidizing fundamentalist extremism.
The catastrophic results became clear on 9/11.
