A Windsor man has pleaded guilty to attempting to sexually assault a
child in a case that embroiled three members of his church's clergy
who allegedly did not report the crimes.
In addition to the felony count, Paul Lavertu, 23, pleaded guilty this
week to a misdemeanor count of having sexual contact without the
victim's consent.
Police say Lavertu assaulted at least five children - girls ages 14
and 10 and boys ages 8, 10 and 14 - by touching them under their
clothes. Four of the children attended the Loveland church where he
was a member.
