NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- A former Christian school athletic
coordinator was sentenced on Wednesday to a year in jail following his
guilty plea to unlawful sex with a 14-year-old student, sending sexual
text messages to a second girl and kissing a third.
Armando Lucero, 27, of Lake Forest pleaded guilty Aug. 20 to the
felony and misdemeanor charges for acts dating back to June 1, 2003
and occurring between him and the 14-year-old Mission Viejo Christian
School student -- where he taught -- and two girls he met as a camp
counselor, said Farrah Emami of the Orange County District Attorney's
Office.
