About the a.a. number list and Gastrich's games |
Okay, now that he's posted our list on his website *without *permission, I
thought I'd explain a bit about what went on over here.
(If you haven't seen it, it's over this way:
http://jcsm.org/1on1/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm)
You may have seen him griping about being filtered. Well, he was. When he
asked about the list, I slapped a filter on his IPA, blocking him from
access to my server. A server which is actually in my house and, frankly,
I didn't want him here.
I have in my logs multiple, sequential access to the "number list" via
proxify.com which is an anonymous proxy that can be used to browse web
sites without revealing your IP address. In that there were no other such
accesses of "walking through" the number list other than via that
anonymous proxy, I can only assume that's how Gastrich evaded my filter
and took the list off my site.
Nobody rushed to give him directions to get to the list and the owner of
the site blocked him. You'd *think he'd get the message. Well, apparently
he didn't.
For a man who sued someone over alleged copyright violations, he was
strikingly determined to get and use that list not just without permission
but in evasion of a filter on his IPA.
Oh and about 1800. 1800 really wasn't in the database. It was apparently
never entered. When he started going on about it, I checked, saw it
missing, and put it in. So it wasn't a cut 'n' paste error on his part. It
really was missing. I would have *told him that (hinted at it in a couple
of posts) but he's bound and determined not to talk or listen to me. So he
never asked directly.
Shrug.
Funny part about that is there are, far as I know, four other "gaps" in
the list he never noticed. They are actual delistings unlike 1800. Four
people who asked to be removed (the requests are still in the database).
None indicated they'd "converted." Two gave no reason at all. One said he
considered himself an agnostic rather than an atheist (which isn't really
a "disqualification" but if somebody wants off the list, they'll be taken
off). One said he wasn't sure what he thought but didn't feel "atheist"
fit him anymore.
No "I got saved!" in any of the four.
Well, you know, it just speaks *volumes to me that the man didn't seem to
think we atheists could refuse him anything he wanted. It's
interesting that he was aware of (and even asked about) the filter
apparently *after he'd evaded it. He was awful quick to find a way to get
somewhere he'd been denied access. I guess we atheists don't get to say
"no" about anything. Not even when it involves private property and the
door is locked.
He sued someone over copyright but then pulls this stunt. Interesting
"morals" these Christians are trying to sell us...

Well, *Duh*!
But I'm sorry, I don't believe that "Jason Gastrich" is any
more real than "Jeff Gannon" was.
He certainly doesn't believe what he says. He can't. His
amassed "Exodus" links, for example, all contradict
each other, or at least the ones that don't flat-out disprove
his own position.
My favorite was the daemonic script left by the "Israelites"
as they fled Egypt. Of course, that particular script didn't
come into use until some 400 years AFTER the supposed
time of King David & the First Temple period...

He's a perfect example of pot kettle black. He calls someone else a theif,
then turns around and does the same thing himself. How does such a

The case was dismissed. And, so help me, he indicated in a Usenet post
that he didn't even show up for the court date (so of course the court
dismissed it).
He's a trip that one...

Yeah. He'll use that argument in an attempt to deflect the beating

been today, I'd guess he's really working hard on it.
He's busy searching through all his ministry resources looking for a
Bible verse that will give him the "get out of jail free card".
More SAB "debunking", perhaps? That thread was funny too.

Hey, Mark-he's got my date of birth wrong (1982 instead of 1962). I guess
the list is `down' while you're working on it. Could you please see if my
DOB's correct on the original?
The original is wrong. I just tried to change it but I've got things torn
up right now and it's all be screwy on me. If I forget, yell at me later.
snip a lil'
Oh and about 1800. 1800 really wasn't in the database. It was
apparently
never entered. When he started going on about it, I checked, saw it
missing, and put it in. So it wasn't a cut 'n' paste error on his
part. It
really was missing. I would have *told him that (hinted at it in a
couple
of posts) but he's bound and determined not to talk or listen to me.
So he
never asked directly.
Shrug.
No great surprise. IMO, Gasbag has one *serious* problem with anyone who
colors outside his lines.
Funny part about that is there are, far as I know, four other "gaps"
in
the list he never noticed. They are actual delistings unlike 1800.
Four
people who asked to be removed (the requests are still in the
database).
None indicated they'd "converted." Two gave no reason at all. One
said he
considered himself an agnostic rather than an atheist (which isn't
really
a "disqualification" but if somebody wants off the list, they'll be
taken
off). One said he wasn't sure what he thought but didn't feel
"atheist"
fit him anymore.
No "I got saved!" in any of the four.
I suppose his next tactic will be to make snotty comments about the folks
no longer posting.
Oh. Great. You think he'll claim they all turn Krustian?
Well, you know, it just speaks *volumes to me that the man didn't
seem to
think we atheists could refuse him anything he wanted. It's interesting
that he was aware of (and even asked about) the filter apparently *after
he'd evaded it. He was awful quick to find a way to
get
somewhere he'd been denied access. I guess we atheists don't get to
say
"no" about anything. Not even when it involves private property and
the
door is locked.
hAkkERz 4 JEEEEEEEZUZ!! It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. I wonder
if the folks at the mosque in his town are having computer trouble..
He sued someone over copyright but then pulls this stunt. Interesting
"morals" these Christians are trying to sell us...
Xianity is just window dressing around what I've always considered the
root problem of *all* religions. The preposterous, insulting idea that
something is fundamentally wrong with you simply because you're human. If
there is anything less moral than that, I've not seen it lately.
The more I see people like Gastrich, the more immoral I regard
Christianity. There's just something fundamentally (pun not intended)
*wrong with that religion...
Certainly. That's apparent by Genesis 3 and is in free-fall from that
point.

To show that atheists are of all ages. The youngest persons to
join this list were 13 and the oldest 83 when they joined. We
don't need the date, just the year. If you don't want this listed,
that's okay. I just rewrote and updated the intro to the above to
explain it more fully.
The alt.atheism atheist/agnostic list is a list of Internet
atheists (any atheist or atheist/agnostic who uses any
facet of the Internet - newsgroups, e-mail, lists, games,
etc.- is welcome to join.) The purpose of this list is to
show that there are a lot more of us than most theists
find acceptable and that we are of all ages, from all
countries and both sexes. The list also shows that there
is more than one kind of atheist. To join this list please
contact Michelle Malkin at:
This list is not for theists in any way, shape or form
and if one or more of them should copy it for their
own use without the permission of every person on
the list, they are thieves.
#1 The name and/or nickname you want on the list.
#2 Are you an atheist(weak or strong), atheist agnostic,
atheist freethinker, Secular Jew, Hindu atheist or Buddhist
atheist?

No, I was corrected. It was Steely Dan.

Steely Dan. The only band named after a sex toy.
Never knew that.
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3733641
Artist Overview
Steely Dan--a name derived from a sex toy in William Burroughs's
"Naked Lunch"--spent much of the '70s atop the charts with jazzy,
smart-***** pop-rock. The brainchild of hipsters Donald Fagen and Walter
Becker, Steely Dan was less a band than it was a laboratory for the
duo's singular musical vision, deftly rendered by a cast of studio
heavyweights to rule the airwaves, but (owing to either stagefright or
sheer impossibility) rarely trotted out on stage. After almost
disappearing for more than a decade, Becker and Fagen had re-emerged
by the '90s, throwing fans a few bones before finally taking the
plunge into a full-fledged reunion.
