I love how Abstinence assholes telegraph their moronic and closed-
minded bigotry by letting everyone know ahead of time that they refuse
to be reasonable or to consider any alternatives. Abstinence, or more
appropriately obstinacy is typical repug *****. Don't confuse them
with the fact that so called abstinence "education", despite it's
inaccurate and propagandistic scare-tactics, has been thoroughly
discredited as an effective means of preventing teen pregnancy or sexual
activity to a significant degree. Never mind the fact that George
W. Bush was a serial womanizer and never abstained from drugs and
alcohol in his youth. Never mind that his drunken ***** daughters open
their legs wider than the panama canal for any guy who has five minutes
to kill. These people are typical hypocrites.

They aren't even decent liars, which means that they aren't very
good at being Christian apologists either. After all, abstinence, as a
policy is about like saying, "Don't sin". Even in their theology they
maintain that it's impossible to never "sin". For example, Paul said in
Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fallen short" of perfection. If
they believed that ***** then they would have to acknowledge that
telling kids not to boink will probably be even less effective than
telling them not swear, or drive drunk, or smoke "tobacco", etc, etc.

It's basically a glorified Nancy Reagan "just say no" to getting
laid policy, which might work for fat, ugly fundamentalist dipshits like
themselves, but won't work for anyone who is cool or has a life.

Now let's imagine for a second that "Abstinence Only" was applied
to other areas of life. What if cops had a policy that said they could
only tell criminals to "abstain" from breaking the law, but could not
actually arrest anyone or take actions to prevent crimes from occurring.
Imagine if our military only begged Bin Laden to "please not fly planes
into our buildings", rather than trying to prevent him from doing it in
the first place. Well, that last case might not be such a great
example, because the criminally incompetent, fucktard Bush
administration essentially took no action to prevent Bin Laden from
attacking the US and cancelled Clinton's plans to *prevent* Bin Laden
from breathing (I.e. assassinating him). However, even the moronic and
corrupt Bush administration seemed to recognize the value to attempting
to preempt and prevent attacks from a guy named Saddam Hussein. But,
while they still obsess about non-existent Iraqi biochemical weapons of
mass destruction, they refuse to make the homeland secure from a
biochemical weapon called the AIDS virus, or other STDs because of their
idiotic opposition to teaching condom use and other safe sex practices.
That's par for the course when it comes to the Bush administration,
which has always been weak on actual homeland security, as they claim to
pursue imaginary weapons and bad guys, at great expense and loss of
life, on distant parts of the globe.

Unfortunately, their irresponsible abstinence only policy may get
more young Americans killed than even the 1400 American soldiers who
have perished in their reckless and illegal Iraqi invasion. Young kids
fed ridiculously wrong propaganda about 30% condom failure rates may not
recognize that, even then, 70% protection would be a shitload better
than having no protection at all. Their unamerican attempt to gag
teachers when it comes to talking about contraception will destroy the
lives of children who might otherwise have been saved.

The only thing requiring abstinence here is for fundamentalist
fuckwits to abstain from attempting to force their religious bigotry and
prudish perversions about sexuality onto public school children. If
they abstain from attempting to use federal resources to establish their
religious beliefs in the public forum then perhaps we can abstain from
convicting them of treason against the US Constitution and only hold
them civilly liable for the damage their policies will inflict upon
American youth.
