Since atheists generally know more about religion than most people,
I wanted to post this question to the group. Please, informational

Firstly, atheists on this ng are virtually void of true knowledge of
religious faith. That's reflected daily by the regulars.
This isn't a matter of faith. This is a matter of historical record.
Earl's statement is a lie. Time and again the atheists have shown and given
specific references to spuuort their knowledge of religion in general and
the RCC in fact.
Earl is the only one who does not supply ant reference but himself.>
In the last couple decades, some Roman Catholic ran amuck abusing
children.
Secondly, most of the problem occurred in the '60's and '70's. It's
believed that the Peace Corp pulled a lot of quality youth and left
behind less desirable available for the Priesthood.
Kind of like all those minorities taking up all the room in the Armed
Forces during the Vietnam war, leaving no room for poor Tom DeLay.
You're an idiot. I cannot believe I see a pathetic attempt to shift
blame onto the Peace Corps! My word- have you no shame at all?
My question is this: were any particular orders of priests
heavily involved?
Not that I know of.
Earl shows his ignorance. In general the parish priest was exposed and they
rarely belong to an order. (This is one of those "every catholic knows
this." things)
They also are not nearly as well monitored as a priest in an order.
This is all guess work but I would suspect that abuse in one of the teaching
orders was more limited. The Jesuits and the like are not stupid and once
they found out about it would probably have been much more likely to put the
person where he could only get hands on himself.
Of course that has to be balanced with the accessibility of boys in the
private boarding schools.
Yeah, but you don't seem to know _anything_.
Chris
Were any orders exempt? I don't know a lot about the
human infrastructure of the RC Church, so I don't know how the
orders interact or even if there's a formal hierarchy within them.
But any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
You're welcome.
