ACLU sues for gays' benefits |
Why would any man need another man to provide him with health care
benefits? The advantage of gay partnerships is that there are no
children at home that need attending. Let each man provide his own
health care, just like single straight people do. This notion that one
guy stays home and plays "Donna Reed" while the other one goes to work
should not become a burden on the American health care system. The
people of Michigan (and many other states) have spoken; No gay
marriage. Stop seeking "special" dispensations just because your
different.
http://www.freep.com/news/mich/gay22e_20050322.htm
Despite marriage ban, couples want health care
The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Monday asking the
courts to protect same-sex couples' health benefits in light of a state
constitutional ban on gay marriage.
In the suit, filed in Ingham County Circuit Court, the ACLU asked the
court to stipulate that the ban on gay marriage does not extend to
health care benefits for same-sex partners. The amendment, they said,
is ambiguous.
The ACLU filed the suit less than a week after state Attorney General
Mike Cox issued his legal interpretation about what effect the
amendment should have on health benefits. He concluded that the
amendment bans government agencies from extending benefits to same-sex
couples in any future contract negotiations.

A sanction is a penalty. Penalties frequently involve fines. Fines are
typically paid for with cash. The state loves cash. It can never get

At any rate, the moron is wrong as usual.
Civil marriage *followed* religious marriage, as is more an accomodation and
regulation than any sort of "benefit".

Aren't there catholic schools which only accept catholics? Aren't there
jewish schools which only accept jews? How about those "desegregated"
schools in the South - try being the wrong race at one of those. There
are still Men's Clubs which don't allow women. There even are women's
groups which don't allow men.
I personally think that all discrimination is wrong, and the above
examples I cite are also wrong. However, until homosexuals are accepted
as normal, until they can wear what they want, act how they want (within
the law, of course) and so on, I see no reason why they can't have a
private slice of real estate somewhere where you have to be a member of
their club to enter.
Cheers,

As matter of fact, yes. And do you know why? As I am Catholic, I'll tell you
why. Because we believe that our religion is a "special" religion and that
we should have a "special" school for our children because we think that by
them wanting to be Catholic they have a "special" right to attend our

Yes, it's a special program. It's special because it allows the
homosexuals to be themselves without reprisal or persecution. Why do you

Could it be because the other christian sects once persecuted catholics?

<Sigh> Homosexuals are not seeking "special" privileges. They are
seeking equality. Until they achieve that equality, they want to be able
to have an area or institute where they can be themselves, without fear

whether the courts themselves get to establish a judicial preference as

Then you missed it. What I am saying, and I've said it for years, is that
the homosexual community keeps denying that they want special priviledges.
My question is, why?
And we keep telling you that they don't want special privileges. All
they want is the same rights as anyone else. Simple.
As for your argument about restricted access schools, well every
religious or cultural group already has them, why can't homosexuals?
Why do you want catholic's only schools?

As matter of fact, yes. And do you know why? As I am Catholic, I'll tell
you
why. Because we believe that our religion is a "special" religion and
that
we should have a "special" school for our children because we think that
by
them wanting to be Catholic they have a "special" right to attend our
"special" school. Now, using that, tell me the homosexuals are not
wanting a
"special" priviledge. The people running the program call it a "special"
program.
Yes, it's a special program. It's special because it allows the
homosexuals to be themselves without reprisal or persecution. Why do you
think that you catholics have schools which only allow in catholics?
Could it be because the other christian sects once persecuted catholics?
Sheesh. It really is that simple mate.
And by the way - hypocrite much? Here you are saying you want special
schools for catholics, yet you're getting your knickers in a knot over
homosexuals following your example? Why is that?
Then you missed it. What I am saying, and I've said it for years, is that
the homosexual community keeps denying that they want special priviledges.
My question is, why?
A question which you fabricated for your bigoted agenda.
They're not asking for "special rights", they're asking for "equal rights".
Thing is, sometimes "special circumstances" are required
to achieve the objective.
Is that what you wanted to hear?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Here we have two perfect examples of what
mental midgets homosexuals are. They believe, and I mean they really believe
it because here they have admitted it, that by my plonking people, it makes
ME go away and so they wished I would hurry up and plonk everybody. All I

your kind and represent them most eloquently.

Your reasoning is bizarre. When you plonk people you are making THEM
go away (from your view.) You seem to believe this proves your
arguments. Your remarks above prove you to be a stereotyping bigot
who thinks way too highly of himself.

Apparently, for many years he worked in a government office somewhere,
helping to ensnare people in red tape. He seems to believes that this somehow
raises him to a position of authority on all things legal. He does seem to
harbor a very negative opinion about America and it freedoms.
