ACLU vs. the Heart and Soul of America
The American Civil Liberties Union and others have systematically
pursued cases to the highest court in the land to weaken our national
identity, claiming "rights" of the few outweigh "We the people"
and 230 years of history. The idealistic, philosophical and worldly
Black Robes ignore our nation's constitution and original intent.
They acquiesce to an "unoriginal intent" not ever postulated by the
founders.
Over the past 60 years the subtle actions of the ACLU and the federal
courts have undermined what had always been understood by Americans.
The "melting pot" included the solid belief that America's
national identity was as a Christian nation and immigrants accepted
this tenet of the United States. According to the ACLU and the U.S.
Supremes, we are to believe this is less than historical fact.

No, I am referring to individuals who has sought assistance from the
ACLU, and was told they could not help them.

You said that they were only interested in money and publicity. When
the defended the Nazis, the publicity was bad and they lost major
contributors. They do not, on the other hand, have unlimited
resources nor do they have any obligation to take any case.

There is no need to protect the rights of the popular.

Actually, you would expect help. The ACLU *has* defended straight, white
Christian males. They defend the rights of everyone.
Still, infringements of the rights of straight, white Christian males (with
respect to those three qualities) are a rarity.

Rush Limbaugh and Oliver North fit the same profile as you, and the ACLU

But then they were both under criminal investigation at the time. Definetely
minorities.
Still, if I am ever unfornuate enough to fall victim to some

It couldn't hurt to ask. They've helped a lot of people you probably

ACLU vs. the Heart and Soul of America
The American Civil Liberties Union and others have systematically
pursued cases to the highest court in the land to weaken our
national
identity, claiming "rights" of the few outweigh "We the people"
and 230 years of history.
The ACLU supports equal rights for all. If the majority of the
people
support oppressing a minority, the constitution forbids the
government
from
acting on that popular support. The ACLU defends the rights of
everyone,
including the rights of minorities from tryanny of the majority.
Exactly. The constitution is there to protect the rights of the
unpopular.
There is no need to protect the rights of the popular.
I guess then, that as a white, straight, Christian male, if some
some
organisation did something to infringe my civil liberties, I could
never
expect any help from the ACLU . But wait a minute, as I am an
Australian
living in the USA, I am part of a minority group. . There is hope
for me
yet.
Still, if I am ever unfornuate enough to fall victim to some
organisation's
evil tenticles, I wont hold my breath for help from the ACLU
Except, of course, the ACLU would come to you aid, just as it did for
Rush Limbaugh.
Everyone here that's bashing the ACLU knows that they helped Rush
Limbaugh, right? I don't have to go searching for this record, do I?
Even though he hates them with a passion, and has said so on numerous
occasions, and will say so again despite running to them for help. If
ol' Rush can get help from the ACLU, anyone can.
That is the thing these guys can't understand. They see the ACLU
defend the rights of people that they don't like, or even of people who
are obviously guilty, and they decide that the ACLU is doing something
bad. The ACLU defended Rush IN SPITE of his being a big, anit-American
*****. They defend the Constutional rights of rapists and murderers
too. Because they defend the Constution, not the individual.
Conservative idiots can't understand that.

Demonstrably untrue. The ACLU has taken up cases involving street preachers,
among many possible examples. They have fought in court for the right of
religious nutjobs to screech salvation from their street corner soapboxes, AND
WON. Next time you see a street preacher, thank your god that the ACLU is
willing to go to bat for your right to witness.

radical right - or radical left.

No, actually the concept of "melting pot" represents the inclusion of people

Yet another 7th grade education wasted.
A major portion of the United States Constitution specifically grants
rights to the few, explicitly outweighing your so-called "We the
people" majority. It's a damn shame the courts (and the ACLU) rightly
disagrees with you, isn't it?
