Ah, The Lucky Romans |
Their Church became the most respected multinational
in the world.
Their canon of books on Christianity unchallenged.
Their edition, the only useful edition.
Their language, the only language of the internationalized
Church.Only seconded by Islamic Arabic.
Their Laws, the only reference, except for Charia Law
Their priesthood and bishobric
Truly God raised them up as a people
for his own purpose and glory.

rubble, ushering in a centuries-long Dark Age when learning pretty
much stopped in Christian lands.
Meanwhile, over in Byzantium, civilization hummed along under the
Eastern Papacy. Greek remains the language of science, because that
was the language of Constantinople.
Then the Muslims kicked that over.

Let's not forget the Goths were also Christian, if of the Arian persuasion.
