AIDS Provides More Evidence For Evolution |
http://www.cnn.com/2005/HEALTH/01/07/aids.resistance.reut/index.html
reveals that a gene called CCL3L1 seems to be involved with increased
resistence to HIV
"About five percent of the human genome has got large chunks of
sequence that are duplicated," Ahuja said in a telephone interview.
For CCL3L1, some people have no copies of the gene at all and some
people have four, five and more."
So here is one gene that some people have zero of while others have
five or more copies. This isn't evidence of design, it's evidence of
disaster waiting to happen - or evolution waiting to happen, depending
which way the cards fall.
Every one of those extra genes is a potential fermentation vat for
evolution since an organism with "spare" genes can afford to give up
one or two for mutation and natural selection to experiment with.
It would be no surprise to an evolutionist to learn that at least five
percent of the genome is junk. It's impossible for creationists to
explain how it's possible for a perfect genome to deteriorate so
dramatically in only 6,000 years after creation by a perfect,
omnipotent and moniscient god, who already declared his work to be
good.

As if we really needed more evidence.

Conservatism is the political philosophy that it ain't broke so don't
try to fix it. Therefore, if that is indeed how it is, that is what
ought to be.

And who failed to put in a little error checking code, something mere
man can do.
