AirAmerica |
I was on the road last week and managed to catch about 5 minutes of the
Randi Rhodes show. What little I could make out from teh static-swamped 50
db blowtorch from wherever in Virginia it sounded exactly the same as the
last time I was treated to this media juggernaut. I don't think I've heard
anyone other than ol' Randi on that network. Didn't bother me, as I get a
kick out of hearing the perma-PMS host. I don't know if the show was a
taped rerun of her show last November or not, but it may as well have been.
I laughed myself silly for the 5 minutes I could hear it as she droned on
and on about the "stolen" 2000 election and the "voting machine fraud" of
2004. I'm disappointed that I missed the gunshot gag, but I guess it didn't
premier until this week. What a classy and informative station. It's no
wonder they can't even pay their bills.

That would be WWRC - 1260 AM.
Oh, it's owned by Clear Channel Communications.
As in Boston & elsewhere, the lunatic right-wing
owned & operated Clear Channel -- the same
company that organized pro Bush/pro war rallies --
is effectively denying Air America to millions of
Americans.
They get the rights to Air America in certain
markets (as many as they can), and then they
broadcast it only on the "50 db blowtorch"
stations that you describe.
What gets me is that even people like Al Franken
appear to be so isolated from the real world
that even they don't notice....

In our last episode <Pkece.97049$JL2.3473880@twister.southeast.rr.com>,
Fester pirouetted gracefully and with great fanfare proclaimed:

Know something funny?
In 1972, Richard Nixon won re-election with 520 electoral votes and 60.7%
of the popular vote.

But try, now, to find somebody who'll admit to voting for him...

Want to know something even funnier?
Try to find a lunatic right-winger that doesn't say JFK stole
the 1960 election.
After you give up on that idea, ask one of these lunatic
right-wingers to explain how JFK did it. Illinois? Chicago?
Please. Take those Electoral Votes away from JFK and
know what happens?
Nothing.
JFK didn't need them. He still wins without Illinois.
He wins by a smaller margin, granted, but he wins.
And, yes, there was a re-count in Illinois. I know the
lunatic right-wing pretends that Nixon was this "Big
man" who refused to make a fuss, "For the sake of
the nation," but they are totally full of *****.
But that's not to say there wasn't any fraud in 1960.
Nixon, for example, suddenly "Won" California
after (and only "after") the absentee ballots were
counted. Before that, JFK was considered the
winner of California.
So only AFTER the Nixon people knew exactly
how many votes they needed to "Win" California,
they counted the absentee ballots and "Discovered"
that Nixon won.

I actually *did* vote for him. It was my first time voting in a
presidential election, and I voted like the good little Republican my
parents had brought me up to be.
First and last time I ever voted Republican. Learned my lesson, I did.

Oh, this one's pretty funny too:

"As the current economic and stock market revival continues to vote for

AirAmerica in general, and Randi Rhodes in particular, are the best
reasons for having satellite radio (which I got for Xmas last year).
Randi sure is no friend of Bush - whether it be the war in Iraq, screwing
the American public for the profit of the big oil companies,
pharmaceutical companies, environmental issues, women's issues, gay
rights, etc - she's got plenty of reasons to be critical of him. She is
passionate, articulate, and well-informed; no wonder the Religious Right
is terrified of her.
The other show I like is Al Franken - witty, intelligent, insightful.
It's a refreshing change from the Neanderthals like Limbaugh and his ilk.

LOL, wrong. Your talking points memo is out of date. That lie was
refuted a long time ago - now you just look lame.
