So Micro$oft helpdesk have got it all wrong.
When your computer crashes, no need to reboot it, just sacrifice a couple of
goats and it will begin working again.
The blood spurts WOULD ruin a keyboard, not to mention the carpet.

That's just daft, everyone knows the incantations involving sacrifice
only work on unix boxes. For Microsoft a lump hammer and hammer drill
are much more effective.

Nope. During the North Africa campaign the USSAF was experiencing a
high level of minor mechanical failures. The local Turaeg told the
Americans that desert spirits, angered by the noise, were breaking the
machines. Offered suitable bribes, the Turaeg agreed to purge the
gremlins. They did so, politely making offerings and asking the
spirits to go bother the Germans, since once the Germans left, most of
the armies would leave.
The rate of failures dropped. Oddly, the Luftwaffe began experiencing
a higher rate of mechancial problems....
