Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have announced a new program that will
charge heterosexuals 10 percent extra for their air travel to specific
locations during the Christmas season.
The company actually offers the 10 percent as a discount but only if
the purchaser obtains the ticket through a "gay" page of the company's
website, a location not typically patronized by families seeking
travel arrangements, according to an Idaho activist who was distressed
by the offering.
Bryan Fischer, of the Idaho Values Alliance, told WND the company
boasts of its "nondiscrimination" policies, but, "here they are
blatantly discriminating against heterosexuals in their pricing
structure."
Word of the discount came through an airline employee, who needed to
remain anonymous because of concerns over retaliation. The employee
reported the company had sent e-mails out announcing the "very soft
launch" of the new promotion.
"They are giving preferences to male passengers who want to wear
dresses on the planes, and giving them preference over married
couples," Fischer said, noting families typically buy more tickets
than individuals or pairs traveling together.
"It just doesn't seem like it's smart business for them to stick their
thumb in the eye of the main passengers," he told WND.
He said he had called the company's reservations number and the clerk
was unaware of the program and it didn't come up on the general list
of discounts available to reservations agents, but he did verify that
the "gay" page discount was valid - but only by going through the
"gay" page.
"The only way you could take advantage of this is to self-identify as
a homosexual, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Otherwise you're out
of luck," Fischer told WND.
The actual program, he noted, doesn't demand a person be homosexual,
but is set up so that only those deliberately looking for "gay" travel
options would find it.
A spokeswoman for the airline, Amanda Bielawski, returned WND's call
requesting a comment, but didn't answer questions, noting that she
didn't know about the program. Then she quizzed WND on who had given
the news organization information on the program.
The airline also at some point after WND inquired changed the headline
on the page from "Gay Travel" to "New York City on Sale" but it still
appeared to be available only through a direct "gay travel" web page,
and couldn't be located through the airline's general reservations web
site. It wasn't listed on the page that was supposed to reference
"promo/all_deals". The promotion appeared only under a page citing
"gaytravel/LGBT-NYC-Sale."
Website promotion for homosexuals
Fischer said he'd been told by sources the corporation viewed the
homosexual community as a "gigantic profitable segment of the
market."
The company earlier had an offer to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico,
under its "gay" discount, and currently is offering discounted
"holiday" travel.
"Lucky travelers who immediately switch their sexual orientation from
heterosexual to anything else can qualify for a special 10 percent
discount for holiday travel to New York City," noted Fischer. "All
they have to do, according to Alaska, is enter a special discount code
"when you purchase your tickets at [the "gay" web page].
"Alaska is basically imposing a 10 percent surcharge for these
destinations on travelers who are sexually normal. It's certainly odd
to see such blatant discrimination against heterosexuals from a
company that claims to be all about equal treatment for everyone,"
Fischer said.
"It's always a mistake for a company to establish policies that
normalize homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism,
but to add insult to injury by penalizing straights in the process is
inexcusable," he said.
The airline's special page also promotes flights to events such as the
"5th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival," and the "8th
International Conference of Gay and Lesbian Tourism."

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have announced a new program that w=
ill
charge heterosexuals 10 percent extra for their air travel to speci=

The company actually offers the 10 percent as a discount but only i=
f
the purchaser obtains the ticket through a "gay" page of the compan=
y's
website, a location not typically patronized by families seeking
travel arrangements, according to an Idaho activist who was distres=
sed
by the offering.
Well, most heterosexuals usually only travel as a family or travel to
and from =
where family is located. Single homosexuals usually travel to
interesting locations =
around the world not related to family.
Bryan Fischer, of the Idaho Values Alliance, told WND the company
boasts of its "nondiscrimination" policies, but, "here they are
blatantly discriminating against heterosexuals in their pricing
structure."
Women, family packaging of travel is offered all the time that doesn't
include
benefits to a single homosexual, or even a homosexual couple.
Word of the discount came through an airline employee, who needed t=
o
remain anonymous because of concerns over retaliation. The employee=
reported the company had sent e-mails out announcing the "very soft=
launch" of the new promotion.
"They are giving preferences to male passengers who want to wear
dresses on the planes, and giving them preference over married
couples," Fischer said, noting families typically buy more tickets
than individuals or pairs traveling together.
Now it makes sense. Lots businesses, roofers, home renovation companies
will give you =
a discount on the price if you allow them to put their company sign on
your lawn.
Most heterosexual men would be uncomfortable wearing a dress on an
airplane, especially the part of having to
keep their legs crossed so as not to appear indecent while travelling. =
So it is doubtful that =
any heterosexual male would want to wear a dress or even travel on the
same aircraft where other
men are travelling wearing a dress just to get a discount.
"It just doesn't seem like it's smart business for them to stick th=
eir
thumb in the eye of the main passengers," he told WND.
Well, the further north one goes often the less welcoming it is to
homosexuals. Any airline that can
convince homosexuals to arrive in a northern region of the planet by
aircraft arriving at their =
destination by aircraft and leaving the plane wearing a dress, can't be
all that stupid, can they?
Not only that those homosexuals in dresses are going to have to be
pretty strong individuals most in =
spirit, physically, and in every other way because they could possible
suffer in subzero weather in their dress, be ridiculed and called names
or even beaten up for appearing in a dress, and be a depressed tourist
because few if any local people would want to talk or deal with any man
in a dress no matter how good looking, how well hung or how wealthy.
=
He said he had called the company's reservations number and the cle=
rk
was unaware of the program and it didn't come up on the general lis=
t
of discounts available to reservations agents, but he did verify th=
at
the "gay" page discount was valid - but only by going through the
"gay" page.
There you go, something special for gay men.
"The only way you could take advantage of this is to self-identify =
as
a homosexual, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Otherwise you're ou=
t
of luck," Fischer told WND.
I suppose you or I could go into any straight bar on the entire planet
if we
dressed very sexy in women's closes and pay no cover charge, also allow
men to
buy us tons of drinks but don't let one man put one hand on us, but is
it worth it
just to avoid a paying the cover charge that usually only men pay and
women go in for free?
The actual program, he noted, doesn't demand a person be homosexual=
,
but is set up so that only those deliberately looking for "gay" tra=
vel
options would find it.
There are lots of gay travel options. Many homosexuals would find it
dull and =
maybe embarrassing to travel with or to a gay travel location. Most
heterosexual
men would rather die than travel to a gay travel location or on a plane
with =
most of the travellers that are gay. Don't believe me? Go to any city
and =
go to a gay restaurant and see 10 or 20 men sitting at one table for a
dinner party.
The straight guys would flee the restaurant in seconds not minutes. In
many cities
there are many fine very good, inexpensive straight restaurants that a
lot of homosexuals
also enjoy going to. When asking women why they don't go there with
their boyfriends/husbands, they always say that their man feels
uncomfortable, gets upset, will automatically leave when they notice
other men looking at them or worse making comments about how handsome
the guy is. Straight guys definitely want to be
the center of attention but only to women it would appear. =
=
Straight women on the other hand, are happy to get any attention they
can from straight guys or homosexuals. =
A spokeswoman for the airline, Amanda Bielawski, returned WND's cal=
l
requesting a comment, but didn't answer questions, noting that she
didn't know about the program. Then she quizzed WND on who had give=
n
the news organization information on the program.
The airline also at some point after WND inquired changed the headl=
ine
on the page from "Gay Travel" to "New York City on Sale" but it sti=
ll
appeared to be available only through a direct "gay travel" web pag=
e,
and couldn't be located through the airline's general reservations =
web
site. It wasn't listed on the page that was supposed to reference
"promo/all_deals". The promotion appeared only under a page citing
"gaytravel/LGBT-NYC-Sale."
Most businesses on the planet don't have big signs saying they
specialize or want gay customers. The reason is that homosexuals are
the most hated people on the planet across all religions, cultures,
races, and countries, and it is good business practice to discretely
advertise to such a customer base so as not to lose all other customers
in all other areas of their customer base. Lots of local business
advertise in special ethnic or religious publications but don't put in a
Christian publication that they give discounts to non-Christians.
Website promotion for homosexuals
Fischer said he'd been told by sources the corporation viewed the
homosexual community as a "gigantic profitable segment of the
market."
The minute Christmas vacations start, homosexuals travel the world, but
most heterosexuals don't travel until after Boxing day because there is
a sort of unwritten rule that heterosexuals only travel to be with
relatives =
or remain in areas together as a family until after boxing day. Not
remotely so for homosexuals. =
The company earlier had an offer to travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexi=
co,
under its "gay" discount, and currently is offering discounted
"holiday" travel.
"Lucky travelers who immediately switch their sexual orientation fr=
om
heterosexual to anything else can qualify for a special 10 percent
discount for holiday travel to New York City," noted Fischer. "All
they have to do, according to Alaska, is enter a special discount c=
ode
"when you purchase your tickets at [the "gay" web page].
"Alaska is basically imposing a 10 percent surcharge for these
destinations on travelers who are sexually normal. It's certainly o=
dd
to see such blatant discrimination against heterosexuals from a
company that claims to be all about equal treatment for everyone,"
Fischer said.
Most heterosexually normal people probably don't want to go to these
locations
or be travelling with teens and infants in the company of gay men being
modestly =
intoxicated and very, very campy. Don't believe me, take any
heterosexual or even
yourself to a restaurant patronized by homosexuals for a morning brunch
or 7:00 p.m.
plus dinner. You will see what I mean. =
"It's always a mistake for a company to establish policies that
normalize homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism=
,
but to add insult to injury by penalizing straights in the process =
is
inexcusable," he said.
On our planet it has always been the case that being nice to this ethnic
group
or that ethnic group or this minority group or that minority group
offended other
people in the population. In most countries on the planet, the Taliban
would be
deemed inappropriate as a group to give a discount to in the airline
business to
make an extreme case. In the opinion of some, being nice to homosexuals
may
also offend other groups of people.
The airline's special page also promotes flights to events such as =
the
"5th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival," and the "8th
International Conference of Gay and Lesbian Tourism."

Actually, the entire homosexuals population of the world wants every
heterosexual on the planet to be allowed in to gay film festivals at a
discount so the heterosexuals can see for themselves and can witness the
good life being portrayed by the homosexual films.

very nice aquarium. The Killarny Mall in Joburg had a novel flower shop. Make your own
bouquet. That was novel. ("I'll take a dozen of these, some sprigs of this, can't
pronounce this one, but I'd like two...")
Missed the surfers stripping down at the Cape of Good Hope -- decided to continue reading
a novel I started on the plane whilst waiting for slower-traveling guides to wend their
way down from the lighthouse.
Their take on capitalism is astonishing and amusing. Lot's of enthusiasm there. The razor
wire took me aback, and the drivers seem just a tad suicidal, but once you notice the lack
of turn arounds on the highways that's somewhat understandable. Miss an exit and it might
be dozens and dozens of kilometers before you can set yourself right. ("Arrive alive" was
the safety campaign when I was there.)
Fascinating place.
I recommend Kirstenbosch Gardens. You can hike the mountain after the flora starts to
bore. Wonderful views. And the Voortrekker Museum/Monument. The parallels between their
"wild west" and America's are just uncanny.
But enough of me-as-tourism-commercial.
I'm a tad odd, that is true. But I know of many others whom also fit the truth of the
assertion made; Both straight and not.

And the Thought of the Moment (TM) is:
"There's only one problem with the theory of gays-as-ethnic-group: It denies the true
plasticity of human sexuality and, in so doing, helps heterosexuals evade that which they
really fear. And what heterosexuals really fear is not that "they" -- an alien subgroup
with perverse tastes in bedfellows -- are getting an undue share of power and attention,
but that "they" might well be us."

You actually believe this?
Don't know about others, but in my case that is true. Don't have any family at all in
South Africa, for instance; Unless you put "family" in quotes, then there's a
self-admitted fag-hag there who might qualify as a "cousin" of some sort...

There's that "whom" again, but the description is wonderful.

One fine day in alt.atheism, Sound of Trumpet <sound_of_trumpet@hotpop.com>
bloodied us up with this:
Airline 'discount' charges heterosexual customers more
I guess it's time for Smell of Butt Trumpet to come out of the closet,
then.
