Object: Alabama 10 commandments Judge Roy Moore being beaten by 50 percentage points
Rightwing christian nutjob Judge Roy Moore who was kicked off the Alabama
supreme court bench for refusing to remove the ten commandments from his
court is polling a whopping 50 percentage points behind his republican
challenger for the governor of Alabama. I guess Alabamans are not brain
dead after all.

Some of Moore's friends are running for seats on the Alabama Supreme Court.
They are basing their campaign on the following claims:
-- the bible is the foundation of our laws and our legal system
-- Supreme Court decisions are not binding on state courts
So far, they have raised a TOTAL of $19,000 in campaign donations. The
sitting judges against whom they are running have something like $1 MILLION
EACH in their campaign funds.

Even if many might agree with his religious views, they can still identify
an ***** when they see one. Just because Moore might share their
religious views doesn't make him the slightest bit qualified to run a state.
I can't imagine anybody less qualified and that includes any homeless
person passed out drunk on the street.

In Florida they have the lotto. Over in Mississippi they have casinos.
People from Alabama often travel to both to gamble. That money funds
education in those states.
Alabama has problems funding education. One year school even started
late because of this. The Alabama governor had a ballot vote to
legalize gambling and use the revenues to fund education.
The fundies voted it down. People still gamble, and that money leaves
the state to make adjacent states smarter and more wealthy. The fundies
voted to make Alabama dumb and poor.
Do not discount fundy power and illogic in Alabama, they would gnaw
their own arm off if it offended their beliefs. They are numerous and
mad. I was there.
